The meeting aimed to discuss options to support international publication at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh emphasized that international publication is a major priority in the internationalization strategy and building a research university of the University. The University has organized many training sessions and presentations on this topic, most recently a series of training sessions under the project "Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacity in Vietnam (ENHANCE)" funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union. In addition, the University also actively improves English proficiency for staff and students through courses such as basic communication English, advanced communication English, academic English, and the Lunch Box Club for English.
For his part, Dr. Wong Woei Fuh introduced IES Company. Under the iGroup Corporation, this is a company specializing in providing modern research solutions through a combination of training and technology to improve the reputation of research units, helping to turn complex ideas into socially relevant research topics. In Vietnam, IES has coordinated with the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI) to implement the R123 International Research and Publication Training Program series, aiming to train skills in building effective research strategies, increasing and developing the recognition of international publications. He also introduced a number of communication and promotion platforms such as the Kudos website, which helps increase the coverage of scientific research through descriptions in simple, easy-to-understand language (plain language).
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh shared the ideas of Dr. Wong Woei Fuh and proposed that the two sides co-organize training courses on research support and international publications for the University's staff and lecturers. In addition, the Rector hoped that IES would support in improving the impact factor of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, in order to gradually bring this publication into the list of ISI/Scopus journals.
