The meeting aimed to discuss options for supporting international publications at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Professor Pham Quang Minh emphasized that international publications are a major priority in the university's internationalization strategy and its development as a research university. The university has organized numerous training sessions and presentations on this topic, most recently a series of training sessions under the project "Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacity in Vietnam (ENHANCE)" funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ program. In addition, the university actively improves English proficiency for its staff and students through courses such as basic conversational English, advanced conversational English, academic English, and the Lunch Box Club for English.
For his part, Dr. Wong Woei Fuh introduced IES Company. A subsidiary of iGroup, IES specializes in providing modern research solutions by combining training and technology to improve the reputation of research units, helping to transform complex ideas into socially relevant research topics. In Vietnam, IES has collaborated with the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Information (NASATI) to implement the R123 International Research and Publication Training program, aiming to train skills in building effective research strategies and increasing the recognition of international publications. He also introduced several communication and promotion platforms such as the Kudos website, which helps increase the reach of scientific research through descriptions in simple, easy-to-understand language.
Professor Pham Quang Minh shared his views on Dr. Wong Woei Fuh's ideas and proposed that the two sides co-organize training courses on research support and international publications for faculty and staff of the University. In addition, the Rector hoped that IES would support improving the impact factor of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, with the aim of gradually including this publication in the ISI/Scopus database.
