The School Union achieved many achievements in the 2017-2018 school year.

The conference noted that, under the direction of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Trade Union of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in the 2017-2018 school year, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities focused on directing and effectively implementing key tasks, programs and plans. The University's Trade Union currently has 530 union members. The staff meets the requirements of training standards, professional standards and management standards according to regulations; always seriously and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations of the industry; are aware of improving professional qualifications and professional capacity, completing assigned tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the school year's tasks.

The School's Trade Union has implemented well, fully, promptly and in accordance with policies and regimes in caring for the lives, representing and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of the staff, teachers and workers. 56 staff members of the School were visited and supported with a total amount of more than 100 million VND. The Humanity Fund supported 04 staff members with especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of 35 million VND. In particular, the Trade Union coordinated with the government to implement activities to innovate teaching methods, strongly apply information technology in teaching, university administration and scientific research.

The Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has done a good job of propagating and mobilizing the staff to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and the Resolutions and policies on trade union work; coordinated with the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department to organize the dissemination of legal education; closely coordinated with the government in the work of planning staff, training staff and lecturers, gradually standardizing the staff of the University.

Besides, the School Union has had meaningful and practical activities in patriotic emulation movements, large-scale social campaigns, major emulation movements of the whole country and the industry such as "Study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example”, “Each lecturer is a scientist, a shining example for students to follow.”, “Good at school, good at housework”, “Innovation in teaching and learning”,“Support education in mountainous areas, remote areas, and areas with special socio-economic difficulties”…

In August 2017, the Union donated 52 million VND and 20 sets of textbooks and reference books to Mu Cang Chai High School; together with the Union of Cluster 5 Universities, organized the donation of a computer classroom to Nghia Lo High School, Yen Bai Province; supported flood victims through the Union of Hanoi National University with 40 million VND, and supported the Youth Union of Bach Long Vi island district...

With the motto of innovation to connect union members, increase the influence of the organization to each cadre and civil servant, the School Union always seeks new solutions and programs to attract a large number of union members to participate. The Professional Training Contest for Union officials has been innovated in form. For the first time, the "Beautiful photos of female union members" contest was organized via Facebook, creating a wide influence and connection between female union members in the whole School. The series of sports exchange activities were successfully organized, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere and creating a playground for union members to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

In foreign affairs, the University Trade Union encourages and motivates the departmental trade unions to organize for union members to participate in field surveys and exchanges with other trade unions. The University Trade Union plays a key role in the activities of the 5 University Trade Union Cluster, thereby contributing to building and promoting the reputation and position of the University.

The delegates attending the conference enthusiastically contributed their opinions, aiming to further promote the positive aspects, and at the same time overcome the obstacles and difficulties in the union activities of the unit in particular and the School Union in general. The opinions all acknowledged the ability to spread, the connectivity and the creativity in the activities of the School Union in the past year. The delegates also suggested that it is necessary to further promote the forms of activities that link between units in the School.

The conference also commended and awarded certificates of merit at all levels to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in trade union activities last school year.

• 05 groups received certificates of merit from the Hanoi National University Trade Union: Faculty of Management Science Trade Union, Faculty of Philosophy Trade Union, III Rectorate Block Trade Union, Faculty of Information - Library Trade Union, Faculty of Psychology Trade Union.
• 05 groups received certificates of merit from the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: Trade Union of the Faculty of Tourism Studies; Trade Union of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language, Trade Union of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Administration; Trade Union I of the Headquarters, Trade Union IV of the Headquarters.
