The conference acknowledged that, under the direction of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, in the 2017-2018 academic year, the Executive Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Trade Union focused on directing and effectively implementing key tasks, programs, and plans. The University's Trade Union currently has 530 members. The staff meets the required standards for training qualifications, professional standards, and management standards; they consistently and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and the regulations of the sector; they are conscious of improving their professional skills and capabilities, completing assigned tasks, and contributing to the successful achievement of the academic year's objectives.

The University's Trade Union has effectively, fully, and promptly implemented policies and regulations in caring for the lives and representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the staff, teachers, and employees. 56 staff members received visits and support totaling over 100 million VND. The Humanities Fund provided support to 4 staff members with particularly difficult circumstances with a total of 35 million VND. Notably, the Trade Union collaborated with the administration to implement innovative teaching methods and strongly apply information technology to teaching, university administration, and scientific research.

The Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities effectively carries out the work of disseminating information and mobilizing staff to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the resolutions and policies of the trade union; coordinating with the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department to organize legal education and dissemination; and closely cooperating with the administration in the planning and training of staff and lecturers, gradually standardizing the staff of the University.

In addition, the School's Trade Union has carried out meaningful and practical activities in patriotic emulation movements, large-scale social campaigns, and major emulation movements of the whole country and the industry such as "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh”, “Each lecturer is a scientist, a shining example for students to follow.”, “Excellent at schoolwork, capable at home.”, “Innovation in teaching and learning,"Supporting education in mountainous areas, remote areas, and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions"...
In August 2017, the Trade Union donated 52 million VND and 20 sets of textbooks and reference books to Mu Cang Chai High School; together with the Trade Union of Cluster 5 Universities, they organized the donation of a computer classroom to Nghia Lo High School in Yen Bai province; they also donated 40 million VND to flood victims through the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, and supported the Youth Volunteer Association of Bach Long Vi island district...

With a motto of innovation to connect union members and enhance the organization's reach to every staff member, the University's Trade Union always seeks new solutions and programs to attract a large number of members to participate. The professional training competition for trade union officials has been revamped in format. For the first time, the "Beautiful Photo of Female Union Members" contest was organized online via Facebook, creating widespread reach and fostering connections among female union members throughout the University. A series of successful sports exchange activities created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere and provided a playground for union members to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
In its external relations work, the University's Trade Union encourages and motivates departmental trade unions to organize field surveys and exchanges with other trade unions for its members. The University's Trade Union plays a key role in the activities of the cluster of 5 University Trade Unions, thereby contributing to building and promoting the reputation and position of the University.

The delegates attending the conference enthusiastically contributed ideas to further promote positive aspects and overcome obstacles and difficulties in the trade union activities of the unit in particular and the University's trade union in general. All opinions acknowledged the widespread impact, connectivity, and creativity of the University's trade union activities over the past year. Delegates also suggested the need to further promote collaborative activities between units within the University.
The conference also commended and awarded certificates of merit at various levels to collectives and individuals who had achieved outstanding results in trade union activities during the past academic year.
