Visiting Associate Professor, Meritorious Teacher Pham Thi Tam and Associate Professor, Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Thua Hy

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the University) shared: Associate Professor, Meritorious Professor Nguyen Thi Tam and Associate Professor, Meritorious Professor Nguyen Thua Hy are the previous generation of teachers and scientists, who have made many contributions to the research and teaching career at the former Hanoi National University and the current University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The teachers have guided many generations of students, many of whom have become famous in science and have made certain contributions to society. Not only do they have extensive knowledge, but the teachers are also shining examples of passion and dedication to science, and are loved and admired by generations of students for their compassionate and emotional lifestyle.

Associate Professor, Meritorious Professor Pham Thi Tam was born in 1937 in Hung Yen. She graduated from the Faculty of History at Hanoi University in 1959. She received the title of Associate Professor in 1984 and the title of Distinguished Teacher in 2008. During her time working at the University from 1959 to 1994, she worked at the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Faculty of History. Her typical scientific works include:History of Vietnamese feudal regime(co-written, volume 1), Education Publishing House, 1962;The resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol invasion in the 13th century(written together),Social Sciences Publishing House, Hanoi, 1968; reprinted 1970, 1972, 1975, People's Army Publishing House, 2003;Strategic battles in national history(co-authored), People's Army Publishing House, Hanoi, 1976; reprinted 2003... She was awarded the 1st VNU Science and Technology Award - 2006 for her workThe resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol invasion in the 13th century.

Associate Professor, Meritorious Student Nguyen Thua Hy was born in 1937 in Hanoi. He graduated from the Faculty of History, Hanoi University in 1959; received a PhD in Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History in 1984; was recognized as Associate Professor in 1996; and was awarded the title of Excellent Teacher in 2002. He worked at the University from 1990 to 2002 in the Department of Ancient and Medieval Vietnamese History, Faculty of History. His main research directions are Vietnamese History and Cultural History, and the History of Thang Long - Hanoi. He was awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2010 for his workThang Long - Hanoi 17th - 18th - 19th centuries.
