First session of the Congress of Delegates of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

Attending the congress were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University; Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University; and nearly 200 union members representing approximately 6000 students of the university.

At the beginning of the congress, the presidium presented the review report of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2014-2017 term and the proposal for the formation of the new Executive Committee for the 2017-2019 term.

Following the presentation of the report, the congress proceeded to vote for the Vote Counting Committee to oversee the election process.

During the discussion, the congress frankly raised important issues for students such as: applying professional skills to volunteer work, professional activities of the staff's youth union branches, etc. Many opinions from different student union branches were shared by delegates right in the hall. The Presidium expressed its appreciation and hope that the new Executive Committee would incorporate these opinions into future overall development.

At the end of the first session, the congress elected 21 comrades to the Executive Committee of the University Youth Union for the 2017-2019 term and 26 comrades to attend the 5th Congress of the Youth Union of Hanoi National University.
