At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced the main achievements in training, scientific research and the main research directions of the University; emphasizing the goal of building a research university, strengthening research projects, especially international publishing. The President hopes that the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam will be the link between the University and Philippine universities.
In response, Mr. Noel Servigon thanked the USSH for its warm welcome. He said that the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam is always ready to support the University in connecting with Philippine universities, organizing joint seminars and workshops, sending lecturers and scholars from Philippine universities to attend courses organized by the University, as well as launching short-term courses on Southeast Asian studies, focusing on hot issues such as the East Sea dispute and the lives of fishing communities in coastal countries, relations between countries in the ASEAN community, etc.
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the proposals of Mr. Mahdi Farazi and committed that the University always welcomes the presence and contributions of the Philippine Embassy in general and Ambassador Noel Servigon in particular in academic exchange activities. The Office of Cooperation and Development will be responsible for connecting the two sides.

On May 31, 2016, Mr. Noel Servigon officially presented his credentials to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh and became the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Vietnam.
