The meeting focused on the Indonesian Government's plan to award scholarships under the Partnership with Developing Countries (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang – KNB) program to Vietnamese students. Accordingly, in 2017, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia will award 135 scholarships to students from developing countries, including Vietnam. Students will study at one of 16 prestigious universities in Indonesia. The scholarship lasts for three years, including one year dedicated to a Master's degree preparatory Indonesian language course.

Ambassador Ibnu Hadi stated that the Indonesian Embassy also wishes to take this opportunity to strengthen relations and will provide the best possible support to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in its research and training activities. The Ambassador expressed his confidence in reputable educational institutions like the University in strengthening educational relations between Indonesia and Vietnam in particular, and relations between ASEAN countries in general.

In response, Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed his gratitude for the support of the Indonesian Embassy to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university will disseminate information about the KNB Scholarship to a wide range of students and select deserving candidates for this scholarship.
