The workshop attracted considerable interest and participation from experts from Vietnam and internationally, including: Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dong Do University; Jinan University, China; Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia; the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Thai Ministry of Education; the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, etc.
The workshop was organized into three sessions covering three main areas: the political-security community; the economic community; and the socio-cultural community.
Session 1: ASEAN Political-Security Community: Key to National and Regional Integration in Southeast Asia. In this session, researchers and experts focused on discussing reports such as: ASEAN and Integration in Southeast Asia: The Role of the ASEAN Political-Security Community; The Future of the ASEAN Community after 2015: From the Perspective of the ASEAN Political-Security Community; Towards the ASEAN Political-Security Community: Challenges Ahead; US Cooperation with ASEAN within the Framework of the ASEAN Political-Security Community from 2009 to the Present...

Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, from the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, is presenting a paper on the topic "Discussing the vision of the ASEAN Economic Community after 2015 and some issues raised".
Session 2: The ASEAN Economic Community: Key to National and Regional Integration in Southeast Asia, chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This session focused on the following topics: Discussing the vision of the ASEAN Economic Community after 2015 and some issues raised; The ASEAN Economic Community and the aspect of foreign direct investment: China's perspective; The ASEAN Economic Community: prospects and challenges for Vietnam; Vietnam's readiness for AEC integration.

Dr. Liwwannan from Jinan University, China, presented a paper titled "The ASEAN Economic Community and Foreign Direct Investment Aspects: China's Perspective".
Session 3: ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community: Key to National and Regional Integration in Southeast Asia. Some key presentations from this session include: The ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community and Vietnam's Participation; From National Identity to Regional Identity: Challenges for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community; ASEAN Community Awareness and Action on Humanitarian Assistance in Response to Natural Disasters.
