Speech by Tran Hoang My Linh - representative of the youth of the whole country at the ceremony to celebrate the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh

Dear leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front, leaders of ministries, departments, branches and Hanoi City,

Dear Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Revolutionary Elders, Armed Forces Heroes, Labor Heroes.

Ladies and gentlemen,

My name is Tran Hoang My Linh, currently a student at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Today, I am very moved and proud to represent the youth of the whole country to express my feelings at the 125th Birthday Anniversary of beloved President Ho Chi Minh - national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity, great leader, outstanding communist soldier who devoted his whole life to the Fatherland, to the Vietnamese people, to independence, freedom, peace and justice for oppressed peoples in the world.

First of all, please allow me to respectfully send to the Party and State leaders, revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and distinguished delegates my best wishes for health, happiness, and success.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

For the young generation, the two words "Uncle Ho" have a sacred meaning, are a great source of pride, encouraging and motivating the youth to rise up. With Uncle Ho:“Youth is the future master of the country. The prosperity or decline, weakness or strength of the country depends largely on the youth.”. As the direct founder and trainer of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, beloved Uncle Ho always cared for training and nurturing the younger generation to become successors, extremely loyal to the cause of their fathers and brothers for national independence and socialism. In response to Uncle Ho's special affection and attention, implementing his sacred Testament, under the leadership of the Party, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and generations of Vietnamese youth always promote the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, constantly strive, overcome all difficulties and challenges, be proactive and creative, and make worthy contributions to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

I was fortunate to be born in peacetime, not witnessing the fierceness of war. I am proud to be a child of Vietnam and always keep in mind that, to have the beautiful life today, previous generations had to pay for it with many losses and sacrifices, and were brave and indomitable in fighting for independence and freedom for the nation. As a young person of the Ho Chi Minh generation, with absolute faith in the Party, in the path that the Party and Uncle Ho chose. I am always aware of the need to constantly cultivate and practice and initially have achievements: the honor of being the student with the highest average score in the faculty; during the three years of study, I was always at the forefront of the youth movement and received many certificates of merit and was one of the 20 outstanding young faces of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Those achievements, though small, are a source of motivation for me to constantly strive, improve myself, to be worthy of the attention, trust, love and expectations that the Party and beloved Uncle Ho have for the youth.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

In the national renewal process initiated and led by the Party over the past 30 years, Vietnamese youth have actively carried out major movements such as: "Youth Entrepreneurship", "Youth keep water”, “Promoting socio-economic development and national defense”, “Accompanying young people to establish themselves and their careers”; actively participate in forums”Vietnamese youth live, fight, work and study following the example of great Uncle Ho.”, “Continuing the Tradition - Forever Twenty" and especially the Campaign "Vietnamese youth study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings"has made an important contribution to educating ideals, ethics, and lifestyles, encouraging a large number of union members and young people to excel in all aspects, and creating more and more typical collective and individual examples in studying, working, and defending the Fatherland.

The 125th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday is an opportunity for young people to express their deep gratitude to the glorious Party, the great Uncle Ho, the heroic people and to pay tribute to the generations of predecessors who fought steadfastly and sacrificed heroically for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people. This is also the 45th anniversary of the day the Youth Union was honored to bear Uncle Ho's name.

Studying and following Uncle Ho's ideology and moral example, the young generation of Vietnam vows to promote the glorious traditions of the nation, the Party, and the Youth Union, to cultivate virtue and talent to become trustworthy masters of the country, contributing to making Vietnam "stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers"As Uncle Ho wished during his lifetime. Vietnamese youth are always aware of their role and honorable responsibility"Where there is a need for youth, there is a need for youth. Where there is difficulty, there is youth.”; “Nothing is difficult, only fear of not being persistent, digging mountains and filling seas, determination will make it happen”. We vow to strive with all our might, to devote our warm blood and volunteer hearts to the cause of building and defending our homeland and country; to inherit and promote the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party and the nation, and to be determined to build a spirit of contemporary value, with the core being:Loyalty, creativity, ambition, commitment, respect and responsibility.

Finally, I wish the Party and State leaders and all delegates good health and happiness!
