This year's "Understanding Ho Chi Minh's Ideology" competition is organized into two smaller competitions: the video-clip competition "Learning and Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" and the "Path of Light" competition.
With the video-clip contest"Studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings”The Youth Union members and students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi introduced individuals and exemplary actions that exemplify the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example. Thirteen video clips were submitted from five Youth Union branches/faculties throughout Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participating the most with eight video clips.

The "Path of Light" competition featured nine teams from nine Youth Union branches under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, including the University of Technology, the University of Education, the University of Natural Sciences, the University of Economics, the Faculty of Law, the University of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of International Studies, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The competition was divided into three parts: the greeting section, the knowledge section, and the public speaking section. In each section, the teams showcased their individuality and talents.
BTC awarded certificates to 9 participating teams along with other prizes:
- The prizes for the video-clip contest "Learning and Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" include:
+ First Prize: “THUONG” – Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
+ Second Prize: “Dang The Lich – an exemplary figure following Uncle Ho's teachings” – Hoa Da Club, Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Third Prize: “The Silent Good Person” – International Faculty Student Union; “Ulis's Face – Excellent in Academics, Active in Activities” – University of Foreign Languages Student Union.
- The prizes for the "Path of Light" competition include:
+ First prize went to the team from the University of Foreign Languages.
Second prize went to the delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Third prize went to the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy team.

In addition, there were several supplementary awards: The award for the most fairplay cheering team went to the Foreign Language University Student Union; the award for the most impressive greeting went to the Education University Student Union; the style award went to the University of Natural Sciences; the award for the best orator went to the Social Sciences and Humanities University Student Union; and the award for the most impressive essay went to Nguyen Thi Quy (Foreign Language University Student Union).
