The 6th School Youth Union Congress: Dynamic - Creative - Integrated

More than 300 outstanding members participated in the 6th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (term 2009 - 2012) on December 25 and 26, 2009.

At the internal session held on the afternoon of December 25, the Congress directly listened to a number of reports from the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2007-2009 term, such as the summary report on activities and the review report of the Executive Committee for the 5th term. At the same time, the Congress also listened to the direction of activities and discussed and approved the project to build the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2009-2012 term.

An important content in the internal session of the congress was that the delegates were divided into 3 discussion groups with important and urgent contents in the activities of the youth union organization: Political - ideological education, ethics and lifestyle for union members, students and the Union participating in party development; Solutions to improve professional activities for union members who are cadres and students; Union activities in credit training.

Many discussion contents were contributed by delegates in discussion groups and many opinions were given that were of practical significance for the union's activities in the new situation.

Speaking at the Congress, the delegates of the higher-level delegations highly appreciated the youth activities of the University in the past term. At the same time, the higher-level delegations also pointed out the challenges facing the youth union members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the new term.

In the spirit of sharing, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Ngo Duy Hieu hopes that the youth union members of the University of Humanities will promote and preserve the culture of Hanoians, practically aiming to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi. Comrade Vu Van Thang (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU) frankly pointed out the shortcomings in the training and striving process of the youth of the University of Humanities.(Watch video)

On behalf of the Party Committee and the School Board, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh congratulated the Congress and believed that the Executive Committee of the 6th term would continue to promote the tradition of the School Youth Union in its activities, truly becoming the right arm of the School Party Committee. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh also pointed out 3 tasks in the new period that the school's youth need to strive to complete.

Firstly, the Union needs to pay attention to educating and nurturing revolutionary ideals, ambitions and dreams for union members in life and study.

Second, the Union needs to study and adjust its organizational model and operating methods to suit the credit training method.

Third, there needs to be a plan to build and develop a team of union cadres from the branch, inter-branch to school union. To do that, there needs to be a screening process to find outstanding and capable union members to become union cadres.(Watch video)

The School Youth Union Congress was a great success with 100% of delegates voting to pass the Draft Resolution of the Congress.
