Over 300 outstanding youth union members participated in the 6th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (term 2009-2012) on December 25th and 26th, 2009.

At the internal session held on the afternoon of December 25th, the Congress directly heard several reports from the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2007-2009 term, such as the summary report of activities and the review report of the Executive Committee for the 5th term. At the same time, the Congress also heard the plan of activities and discussed and approved the proposal for the establishment of the School Youth Union Executive Committee for the 2009-2012 term.
An important part of the internal session of the congress was that delegates were divided into three groups to discuss important and urgent issues in the activities of the youth union organization: Political and ideological education, ethics and lifestyle for union members and students, and the Youth Union's participation in Party development; Solutions to improve professional activities for union members who are staff and students; and Youth Union activities in credit-based training.

Speaking at the Congress, delegates from higher-level delegations highly appreciated the youth activities of the University during the past term. At the same time, the higher-level delegations also pointed out the challenges facing the youth members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the new term.

(Photo: NA/USSH)" align="right" width="240"/>On behalf of the Party Committee and the School's Board of Directors, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh congratulated the Congress, expressing confidence that the Executive Committee for the sixth term will continue to uphold the traditions of the School's Youth Union in its activities, truly becoming the right hand of the School's Party Committee. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh also outlined three tasks that the school's youth need to strive to accomplish in the new era.
Firstly, the Youth Union needs to focus on educating and nurturing revolutionary ideals, aspirations, and dreams for its members in their lives and studies.
Secondly, the Student Union needs to research and adjust its organizational model and operating methods to suit the credit-based training system.
Thirdly, there needs to be a plan to build and develop a team of youth union officials from the branch level, inter-branch level to the school level. To achieve this, a selection process is necessary to find outstanding and capable members to serve as youth union officials.(Watch the video)
