Marks of the 2007-2009 term

Also around this time, 2 years ago, the congresses of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at all levels were held to prepare for the 5th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (term 2007 - 2009). 2 years have passed, not a long time but enough for a generation of union cadres to mature in their work, enough to train a generation of successor union cadres and many activities and movements to implement the Congress Resolution were deployed, creating a real mark on the union members and students of the school.

With 4 programs implemented, namely: Program to innovate the content and form of political and ideological education for student union members; Union participating in the roadmap to improve the quality of training and professional activities; Changing the organizational model and method of organizing the Union in the conditions of credit training, playing a good political core role in building the Student Union and participating in Party development; and Program to strengthen foreign affairs activities, expand relations with social organizations, grassroots Union organizations in the area and region, the school's Union work and youth movement have achieved encouraging results.

Implementing the direction of the Party Committee, the School Youth Union has effectively deployed the campaign to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example, typically ThiTelling stories about Ho Chi Minh's moral exampleSchool level, Discussion in each branch with orientationEach branch has a slogan in response to the campaign to study and follow Uncle Ho's example.CompetitionJourney following Uncle Ho's footsteps(LCD Sociology),Book exhibition about Ho Chi Minh(Library Information Council),Exhibition of calligraphy works of Ho Chi Minh(Literature Faculty), participateYouth Camp to study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings(won 1 First Prize in the Singing Festival for the People, Second Prize in the Storytelling Contest about Ho Chi Minh's moral example, First Prize in the Informatics Olympiad, Second Prize in the Camp),... In addition to proactively grasping the ideological developments of students, especially during times when politically sensitive events take place, to have timely and correct orientation for student union members before those events, ensuring that the school's student union members always have correct political awareness to serve the interests of the country and the people; the work of political and ideological education for union members continues to maintain the stability and effectiveness of the traditional periodic activities, such as: Student Citizen Activity Week at the beginning of the school year; orienting the activities of the union branches associated with important political events; maintaining the activities of the Student Forumsvnhanvan.org, internal magazineVoluntarypublished quarterly with a quantity of over 1000 copies; a system of propaganda bulletin boards in the school, information boards in each lecture hall; maintaining the distribution of the Student and Youth newspaper to each Youth Union branch and Union branch;... In particular, the School Youth Union proactively strengthens coordination with units inside and outside the school to improve the effectiveness of political and ideological education activities for student union members: Exchange and exhibition with former prisoners of Phu Quoc Island (coordinated withVeterans Association); Storytelling Contest about Ho Chi Minh's moral example and Singing FestivalUnion, topic about Ho Chi Minh (in collaboration withSchool Union); Journey to the Source (in cooperation withYouth Union of University of Science); encourage units to be proactive and creative in their own operating models to bring political and ideological education work deeply into the youth movement in each union and branch, especially in the movement to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh (units that have done well such as Sociology, Literature, Library Information,...).

In addition, the School Youth Union continues to effectively maintain a number of activities from previous terms, such as: supporting first-year students with skills in exploiting information on the internet and learning methods at university level; Maintain the activities of the Youth Union branch associated with the goal of saying no to negativity in exams, disciplined study - quality exam preparation, support methods for organizing scientific research work for student union members,... Develop classes and short-term training courses on necessary soft skills, supplementing the professional learning process for student union members: scientific report presentation skills, effective English learning methods, reading skills, time management skills, teamwork skills,... Find many sources of scholarships to encourage learning, especially for student union members with difficult circumstances to strive to study well: Tiep suc den truong scholarship, Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship, Cung ban quat song scholarship, KOVA scholarship, Mobile Fone scholarship,... The school union also built a scholarship fund to encourage student union members to participate in scientific research, awarded to topics that have meaningful contributions to the work of building the school's youth movement every year. Continue to encourage units to maintain and develop periodic professional activities as well as professional activity models:Young Managers Club(College of Management Science),Han Nom Club and Writers and Journalists(Faculty of Literature),Movie Club(Oriental Faculty College),Young office staff club( Faculty of Archival Science and Public Administration),Journey with you contest(LCĐ Faculty of History),Sociology Day(Sociology Faculty),Celebrate Vietnam Tourism Day(LCĐ Faculty of Tourism Studies)... Developing volunteer models associated with expertise:Student social work team(Social Work, Psychology, Sociology),Student Event Organizer and Volunteer Magazine(Journalism and Communications, Literature,...),Thang Long Cultural Propaganda Team( Tourism),Han Nom Club(Literature),Korean Club(Orientalism),Campaign Reporter Team(Press & Media).

Along with the development of education and training, contributing to improving the training quality of the School, the Youth Union has promoted the research and step-by-step application of the credit-based training model, referring to the operating models of many other units. From there, based on the practical situation, the School Youth Union has made timely adjustments in the way of organizing activities, especially strengthening the coordination and division of work between the Youth Union and the Association in accordance with the new situation. This is completely consistent with the general orientation of the superior Youth Union as well as the characteristics of the model of organizing mass organization activities in Vietnam and has had clear effects.

In the work of training cadres, the School Youth Union has maintained the effectiveness of annual training work, many Union branches have been proactive in this work (Philosophy Union, Sociology Union, Management Science Union, etc.). The School Youth Union has also actively sent cadres to attend training courses of the higher-level Union to learn and promptly make adjustments to the content of the work to make it suitable and consistent.

One of the new features in the activities of the Youth Union in the last term is that the movements were proactively built by the School Youth Union in a direction suitable to the new situation, creating a maximum proactive mechanism for the units. As the political core, the Union contributes to orienting the activities of the Student Union towards enhancing student-oriented activities:Youthful-healthy-creative-modernas the goal of the 5th congress passed. In particular, the proactive and positive work in a unified and synchronous manner in Party development has brought about clear results. The work of orientation, training and introducing outstanding members to join the Communist Party of Vietnam has exceeded the set targets.

In the trend of national integration, the Youth Union of the University has built many coordinated activities to strengthen the connection between the youth of the University and other units inside and outside the National University of Hanoi, such as: Journey to the source, Open Aerobic Competition for Humanities Students, Celebrating World Population Day, Singing Contest for Students of 5 Universities, sending 550 students to participate in the World Vesak Festival. During the 2007-2009 term, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has always affirmed its pioneering role in the Youth Union work and youth movement of the Youth Union units of the National University of Hanoi with contributions in both scale and depth. The school's Youth Union has established relationships with many business units outside the school, attracting a large amount of funding to effectively serve the diverse activities of the school's youth such as: Mobile Fone, VietnamMobile, General Department of Population, Song Da 7 Urban Investment and Construction Company, Vien Thong A. Continuing to maintain volunteer activities to join the community increasingly enriches the tradition of mutual love, demonstrating the unique features of the youth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with coordinating units as well as the social community.

Promoting the above achievements, in the 2009 - 2011 term, the activities of the School Youth Union aim to continue to affirm the position of the Youth Union in the political system of the School, in the Youth Union movement of Hanoi National University and gradually affirm the leading role in the Youth Union movement of the Capital; Building a strong Youth Union organization, adapting to the credit-based training organization, meeting the needs of union members and students; actively contributing to the comprehensive development of the School. With the main direction of operation being to take political-ideological education as the orientation, focusing on activities to support union members and students to develop comprehensively on the basis of effectively promoting the role of the team of union members and cadres; promoting the core political role of the Youth Union organization, promoting the Student Association movement, creating a unified union bloc, building a humanistic student style, aiming to contribute to building a youthful, disciplined and civilized school; Strengthening foreign affairs activities to actively promote the image of the school's youth in the community. This term strives to achieve important targets, which are:

• 100% of union members study and research the Party and State's guidelines, policies and guidelines; update political and social information;
• 100% of union members do not have social evils;
• Each Union has at least 01 effective professional model/activity;
• 100% of Youth Union cadres at branch level are trained in skills and expertise; 100% of Youth Union cadres have good or higher educational qualifications;
• 100% of union members registered to implement the union member training program;
• At least 100 members were introduced to become party members.

On December 25-26, 2009, the 6th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (term 2009 - 2011) will be held. So, 5 congresses - 14 years of building and developing the school's youth union organization have passed. Moving forward, there are still many challenges as well as opportunities waiting ahead. Hopefully, with courage - creativity - integration, the union members will continue to build the school's youth union and youth movement worthy of the tradition of the General University in the past, worthy of the Third Class Labor Medal awarded by the State and will always be the leading flag in the National University Youth Union movement, the City Youth Union movement and more.
