On December 22, 1944, the Vietnam Liberation Propaganda Team was established in Cao Bang. This was the first main force, the predecessor of the later Vietnam People's Army. After 65 years of building, fighting, and maturing, our army has rightfully earned the title of the heroic army of a heroic nation, worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's praise: "Our army is loyal to the Party, devoted to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for Socialism; it fulfills every task, overcomes every difficulty, and defeats every enemy." The image of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army united and closely connected with the people: "the army and the people are like fish and water" is always a fine tradition preserved and a source of pride in the hearts of every soldier and citizen. The achievements and valuable traditions are vividly portrayed through numerous engaging documentary photographs, historically significant artifacts, and documents and books displayed in this exhibition.
These documents and images were selected from archival collections preserved at the National Archives Center III, such as the Prime Minister's Office Collection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Collection, and the Southern Resistance Administrative Committee Collection. The exhibition focuses on introducing the organization of the Vietnam People's Army in its early days; its combat activities, overcoming hardships and sacrifices to directly contribute to the glorious victories in the two resistance wars against France and the United States; and the close and enduring bond between the army and the people, which served as one of the strongest pillars for the strength and victory of the Vietnam People's Army.
