The main content of the seminar is to discuss the advantages and challenges facing Vietnam's tourism industry in the context of integration and propose solutions to overcome them.
Reports have a common view that integration with the world economy has had a profound impact on all aspects of our country's economy, especially on activities in the tourism sector. Vietnam's tourism faces many challenges such as increased tourism competitiveness among countries; economic crisis along with natural disasters and epidemics reducing the attractiveness of tourism; shortage of quantity and failure to meet quality requirements for human resources working in the tourism industry...
Besides the difficulties, some new signals have appeared showing the development prospects of Vietnam Tourism in the coming time such as: the rapid economic recovery of the Asia-Pacific region in comparison with other regions in the world; major global events and many national events of Vietnam will take place in 2010 which are great opportunities for tourism development...
One of the topics that received much attention for research and discussion at this seminar was the current situation and solutions for tourism human resource training in Vietnam. In particular, the proposed solutions to improve training quality focused on the following directions: strengthening close links between training institutions and businesses by inviting businesses to participate in the training process; enhancing vocational skills in the training program; early specialization to create opportunities for students to receive more in-depth training; investing in improving the quality of foreign language teaching; enhancing the training of cultural and social background knowledge for tourism students; building an open and updated tourism training program, connecting with tourism training programs around the world...
