50 years of Dong Khoi movement

The workshop "50 years of Dong Khoi movement in Southern Vietnam: historical issues" took place on December 26, 2009 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

More than 30 reports submitted to the workshop focused on two major groups of issues:

- Dong Khoi Movement - general issues: reports mention the contents related to the Party's guidelines and policies, Uncle Ho on the Southern revolution, the international context of the Dong Khoi movement or present an overview of the history of Dong Khoi movement research in specialized journals.

Thereby, the reports clarify Uncle Ho's correct guiding ideology in the development process of the Southern revolution in the period of 1954-1960, the role of Resolution 15 of the Party Central Committee, the role of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the role of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the role of changing the method of struggle, the international impacts on the Party's policies and the revolutionary movement in Southern Vietnam, the characteristics and great experiences of the Dong Khoi movement in Southern Vietnam...

- Dong Khoi Movement - Specific Studies: The reports focus on analyzing the causes of the Dong Khoi movement from economic, political, and international perspectives; the role of political and armed forces, farmers, youth, and students participating in the Dong Khoi movement; the historical significance of Dong Khoi in creating a fundamental transformation, bringing the Vietnamese revolution from partial uprisings to revolutionary war, from preserving forces to comprehensively attacking the enemy; the fighting experiences drawn from Dong Khoi...

The workshop is an opportunity for scientists to analyze and evaluate the historical significance of the Dong Khoi movement (1959-1960) and draw lessons for today's practice of building and defending the country.
