50 years of the Đồng Khởi movement

The seminar "50 Years of the Uprising Movement in Southern Vietnam: Historical Issues" took place on December 26, 2009, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Over 30 papers submitted to the conference focused on two major groups of issues:

- The Đồng Khởi Movement - General IssuesThese reports cover topics related to the Party's guidelines and policies, President Ho Chi Minh's views on the revolution in the South, the international context of the Đồng Khởi movement, or provide an overview of the history of research on the Đồng Khởi movement in specialized journals.

Through these reports, we can clarify President Ho Chi Minh's correct guiding ideology in the development of the revolution in South Vietnam during the 1954-1960 period, the role of Resolution 15 of the Central Committee of the Party, the role of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the role of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the role of the transformation of the struggle methods, the international impacts on the Party's policies and the revolutionary movement in South Vietnam, and the characteristics and major experiences of the Uprising in South Vietnam...

- The Đồng Khởi Movement - Specific StudiesThe reports focus on analyzing the causes of the Đồng Khởi movement from economic, political, and international perspectives; the role of political, armed, peasant, youth, and student forces participating in the Đồng Khởi movement; the historical significance of the Đồng Khởi movement in creating a fundamental shift that transformed the Vietnamese revolution from partial uprisings to revolutionary war, from a defensive stance to a comprehensive offensive against the enemy; and the lessons learned from the Đồng Khởi movement...

The seminar is an opportunity for scientists to analyze and evaluate the historical significance of the Đồng Khởi movement (1959-1960) and draw lessons for the practical implementation of national construction and defense today.
