Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, Mr. Anar Imanov, met with leaders and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
At the beginning of the exchange, Ambassador Imanov asked, "Would you like to be an ambassador for Vietnam?" He stated, "In this era of globalization, you need to learn at least one more foreign language. In our country, Azerbaijan, if you don't know another language, it will be very difficult to find a good job."
During the process of establishing a relationship between the Azerbaijani embassy and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ambassador Imanov chose the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence (October 18, 1991 – October 18, 2015) to deliver a presentation to humanities students about the history and people of Azerbaijan.
Enthusiastically delivering his presentation, Ambassador Imanov noted that Azerbaijan and Vietnam share many similarities, having both endured numerous wars, and that the people of both countries have demonstrated a resilient spirit, rising above hardships to achieve independence and national development.

Furthermore, he noted that two events marked the beginning of bilateral cooperation. Firstly, President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan in 1959, which sought assistance in oil-related science and technology. Secondly, President Heydar Aliyev's visit to Vietnam in 1983, which strengthened that relationship to this day.
Imanov personally greatly admired the great leader of the Vietnamese nation: “You are fortunate to have a leader like Ho Chi Minh. I personally admire him greatly. Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam led your country to unification and stood up against colonialism and imperialism throughout the world.”
In addition to the lecture, Mr. Imanov also showed the students short videos introducing the cuisine, people, and country of Azerbaijan. He also gifted them a book about the country's cuisine, hoping that "if one day you can cook an Azerbaijani dish, it will be an honor for us."
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Vietnam is developing a project on the history and development of its country. At the same time, Ambassador Imanov affirmed his continued support and commitment to providing opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in this southeastern European country.
