Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam - Mr. Anar Imanov had a meeting with leaders and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Imanov asked the question, “Do you want to be an ambassador for Vietnam?” He said, “In an era of globalization, you need to learn at least one foreign language. In our country of Azerbaijan, if you don’t know another foreign language, it will be very difficult for you to find a good job.”

In the process of establishing relations between the Azerbaijan Embassy and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ambassador Imanov chose the occasion of the 24th anniversary of independence (October 18, 1991 - October 18, 2015) to send to the Humanities students a presentation about the history of the country and people of Azerbaijan.

Enthusiastic in his presentation, Ambassador Imanov said that Azerbaijan and Vietnam have many similarities as they both suffered many wars, and the people of both countries showed the spirit of rising up after difficulties and challenges to gain independence and develop the country.

Besides, he noted that there were two events that marked the bilateral cooperation. The first was President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan in 1959 to call for scientific and technical assistance related to oil. And the second was President Heydar Aliyev's visit to Vietnam in 1983, which helped strengthen that relationship until today.

Personally, Mr. Imanov greatly admires the great leader of the Vietnamese people: “You are lucky to have a leader like Ho Chi Minh. Personally, I admire him very much. Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam brought your country to unification, standing up against colonialism and imperialism around the world.”

In addition to the lecture, Mr. Imanov also sent students short films introducing the cuisine, people, and country of Azerbaijan. He also gave students a book about the country's cuisine, hoping that "if one day you can cook an Azerbaijani dish, it will be an honor for us."

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam is developing a project on the history and development of its country. At the same time, Ambassador Imanov affirmed that he always supports and provides opportunities for Vietnamese students to study in the southeastern European country.
