During the meeting, Dr. Park Sohwa stated that the ASEAN Digital University Project is part of the ASEAN Cyber University project aimed at building an e-learning network at universities within the bloc. Regarding the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dr. Park Sohwa expressed her desire for a pilot program in Korean Studies using e-learning technology for teachers and students, and invited representatives from the University to participate in the October workshop organized by ASEAN Cyber University to introduce e-learning and provide guidance on its use. Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated Dr. Park Sohwa's proposals and believed that promoting e-learning is appropriate for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in its modernization and international integration process. According to him, current integration requires the University to improve its infrastructure, technology quality, internet network, and the awareness of teachers and students in using technology. Therefore, he hoped for the long-term attention of Cyber State University and hoped that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities would be included in the list of universities belonging to the ASEAN Digital University Network.
The "ASEAN Cyber University" project initiative was first proposed by the ASEAN Secretary-General at the ASEAN-Korea Summit in 2009. Following this, since 2010, South Korea has been implementing a pilot project to build infrastructure for e-learning in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
