The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the plan for coordinating the organization of a seminar commemorating the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
During the meeting, the parties agreed on a mechanism for coordinating activities among the four universities. A proposal for organizing an international conference, "Vietnam 1975-2015: Unification, Integration, and Development," will soon be developed and approved. The conference is expected to take place over two days, April 24-25, 2015, at Thu Dau Mot University. This marks the first collaboration between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and three universities in the Central and Southern regions to organize a major scientific event summarizing 40 years of Vietnam's construction and development since peace was restored.
