On September 24, 2018, the book launch of "Sweet Burden" by writer Wu Sheng - dubbed Taiwan's "national treasure" writer - was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

This book is a collaborative product between the Faculty of Literature (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and the Faculty of Chinese Literature (National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan), within the framework of the overall professional cooperation program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and partners from Taiwan (China). The book was translated by two lecturers from the Faculty of Literature, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Dien and Dr. Nguyen Thu Hien, and published by the Literature Publishing House in 2018.

At the book launch, on the Taiwanese side, in addition to poet Ngo Thinh and his wife, there was also the presence of Mr. Thach Thuy Ky (Chief Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office) in Vietnam, along with other representatives from the Office, Ms. Hieu Thuc Trinh (Deputy Director of the National Taiwan Literature Museum), Professor Tran Ich Nguyen (lecturer at National Cheng Kung University and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Kinmen University), lecturers from many universities in Taiwan, and many other delegates.

On the Vietnamese side, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was represented by Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Thach (Head of the Faculty of Literature), along with faculty members, lecturers, and students from the Faculty of Literature. The Director of the Literature Publishing House – the unit that collaborated with and published the book "Sweet Burden" in Vietnam – was also present at the event. This book launch also attracted the attention of many representatives from agencies and units inside and outside the university, such as the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Center for Chinese Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), the Institute of Literature, the Institute of Culture, the Institute of Han Nom Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), the National Library of Vietnam, the Hanoi Library, the Hanoi University of Education Publishing House, etc.

In the solemn atmosphere of the book launch, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University), Ms. Hsiao Shu-ching (Deputy Director of the Taiwan Literature Museum), Dr. Nguyen Anh Vu (Director of the Literature Publishing House), and Mr. Thach Thuy Ky (Chief Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam) successively delivered speeches congratulating the event.

The panel discussion with writer Ngo Thinh and guests from various professional units also attracted significant interest from many viewers, especially students from the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The translation and introduction of Ngo Thinh's book "Sweet Burden" in Vietnam is an event that contributes to strengthening mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and Taiwan (China), demonstrating the results of collaborative efforts between agencies and universities on both sides.
