During the meeting, Associate Professor Tran Viet Nghia introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a leading institution for research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. Initially focusing on basic science disciplines, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has later developed applied disciplines to meet societal needs. Regarding international cooperation, the University has signed cooperation agreements with over 300 foreign partners. Associate Professor Tran Viet Nghia expressed his hope that the University would soon sign a formal cooperation agreement with Deakin University to promote activities such as student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, and co-organizing international conferences.

On behalf of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Dr. Bui Chi Trung stated that the Institute has 28 years of experience in journalism and communication training in Vietnam. Currently, the Institute's main research and teaching areas are journalism studies, communication research, public relations, and advertising. From 2015 to the present, the Institute has implemented three Master's degree programs in Communication Management in collaboration with the University of Stirling (UK). The Institute hopes to learn from and exchange experiences in this field with Deakin University.
On behalf of the Australian side, Professor Michael James Knopp expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that the School of Creative Arts and Communication, Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University, currently offers several related programs, including a Bachelor of Communication. The school has modern facilities and resources such as motion picture recording equipment, digital image processing equipment, film and television production, and a newsroom. In Vietnam, since 2010, the Faculty of Arts and Education has implemented a 2+2 Bachelor of Communication in Journalism program in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. He suggested that, in addition to inviting Australian scholars to lecture, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, could also develop a similar model with Deakin University.

Deakin University is one of Australia's largest public universities, established in 1974 with four campuses in Victoria, Australia. The main campus is located in Burwood. The university has four faculties: Faculty of Arts and Education; Faculty of Business and Law; Faculty of Health; and Faculty of Science, Engineering and the Artificial Environment. Currently, the university has nearly 60,000 students, including approximately 12,000 international students. In 2019, Deakin University was ranked 309th in the world and 19th in Australia by the QS World University Rankings. Furthermore, Deakin is recognized as a global leader in flexible courses, allowing students to choose to study on campus, at home, online, or in the workplace.
