"Welcome to the 2018 freshmen": Attitude or competence?

Attending the program were Mr. Ha Ngoc Anh (Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department), Mr. Doan Hong Ha (Deputy Director of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training), journalist Nguyen Huy Loc (Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Student Newspaper), Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung (General Director of Langmaster International Education Organization), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University).

Before the program began, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan met with Mr. Ha Ngoc Anh (Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department).

In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude to the relevant organizations for choosing the University as a partner to organize this meaningful program for new students at the beginning of the new academic year. His speech also mentioned the context of the 4.0 technological revolution and the educational era, which present many challenges for universities as they must change and adapt to increasingly high standards and the rapid changes in the world. Fulfilling its mission of training high-quality, highly skilled human resources, the University is currently paying special attention to enhancing soft skills and supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship and career development among students.

The "Welcome New Students 2018" program series was organized at various university campuses in Hanoi. The main purpose of the program series was to equip new students with the necessary methods, knowledge, and skills for their time as university students.

During the program, students had the opportunity to listen to and directly ask questions of the renowned speaker, Dr. Le Tham Duong, on many practical topics such as: Self-positioning and development; Breakthrough thinking; The art of intelligent communication and behavior; Attitude versus competence...

Within the framework of the program, representatives from the Vietnam Student Newspaper awarded 4 scholarships to 4 new students; Arena Multimedia School of Multimedi Arts awarded 5 scholarships worth 50% of the tuition fees for graphic design courses at Arena Multimedia, totaling 40 million VND, to new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
