Last September, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) led a delegation from the University to participate in the workshop "Concluding the ENHANCE Project - Strengthening National Research and Innovation Capacity in Vietnam" held in Ho Chi Minh City.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Manuel Palomar (Rector of the University of Alicante, the main coordinating unit of the project), Dr. Roberto Escarré (Director of the International Project Management Office, University of Alicante), and professors and scholars from two European universities: Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland) and the Slovak University of Technology (Slovakia). In addition, the project also attracted participation from domestic institutions such as Hue University, Can Tho University, Thai Nguyen University, etc.

The workshop was attended by experts from Vietnam and abroad.

At the project's closing ceremony, Professor Pham Quang Minh contributed two research papers entitled: "The Research and Innovation Block of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi" and "Promoting Internationalization to Enhance Research Capacity". Professor Pham Quang Minh's two presentations attracted the attention of the delegates and received support from Vietnamese and international professors.

The Rector emphasized the importance of research, particularly its internationalization. Recently, the number and quality of international publications by the faculty of the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities have increased significantly. While in 2010 the University only had 13 international publications, by 2016 this number had nearly quadrupled. Alongside this, efforts to raise awareness among faculty and staff have been intensified. Furthermore, the University has developed a network of internal and external funds to support the "Publish or perish" culture.
