Signing of an agreement to establish a Center for Indian Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Rector Pham Quang Minh gave a brief introduction to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a leading institution in Vietnam for research and training in the social sciences and humanities. The university offers 24 undergraduate programs, 40 master's programs, and 31 doctoral programs. These programs range from fundamental sciences such as History, Literature, Sino-Vietnamese Studies, Linguistics, and Philosophy, to highly applied fields such as Journalism, Public Relations, Hotel and Tourism Management, and Social Work. The Faculty of Oriental Studies – which includes the Department of Indian Studies – currently leads the university in terms of student enrollment.

On behalf of the Jindal Global side, Dr. Sanjeev P. Sahni stated that Jindal Global is one of the non-profit universities in India with a deep interest in the social sciences and humanities. The university is currently seeking to expand its relationships with partners in East Asia, including Vietnam. Therefore, establishing the JGU India Research Center at a Vietnamese institution like the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is essential. He also hoped that both sides would promote other activities such as student and faculty exchanges, especially for doctoral students. The Jindal Global side also committed to supporting two doctoral scholarships for the university.

At the end of the meeting, representatives from both sides signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the establishment of the JGU India Research Center at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. It is also planned that a Vietnam research center will be established at Jindal Global University in the future.

Jindal Global University is a non-profit university established in 2009 by the government of Haryana, India. The university aims to be a model educational institution in teaching and research with a global focus, and a bridge between countries and organizations both domestically and internationally. According to the Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking, the university is ranked among the top 251-300 BRICS countries. Jindal currently has eight constituent schools: Law, Journalism and Communication, Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Public Policy, International Studies, Economics, and Finance and Banking.
