Rector Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam's leading institution for research and training in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university offers 24 undergraduate programs, 40 master's programs and 31 doctoral programs. The programs range from basic sciences such as History, Literature, Han Nom, Linguistics, Philosophy... to highly applied fields such as Journalism, Public Relations, Hotel and Tourism Management, Social Work. The Faculty of Oriental Studies - which has the Department of Indian Studies - is currently the leading faculty in the university in terms of the number of students.
On behalf of the host country, Dr. Sanjeev P. Sahni said that Jindal Global is one of the non-profit universities in India with a deep interest in social sciences and humanities. The university is currently looking to expand its relations with partners in East Asia, including Vietnam. Therefore, the establishment of the India-JGU Research Center at a Vietnamese institution such as the USSH is very necessary. He also hoped that the two sides would promote other activities such as student and faculty exchanges, especially graduate students. The host country also pledged to support two scholarships for graduate students of the University.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders of the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the India-JGU Research Center at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. It is expected that in the future, a Vietnam research center will be established at Jindal Global University.

Jindal Global is a non-profit university established by the government of Haryana, India in 2009. The university aims to become a model educational institution in teaching, research towards global orientation and a bridge between countries, domestic and international organizations. According to the Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking, the university is ranked among the 251-300 BRICS countries. Jindal currently has 8 member schools: Law, Journalism and Communication, Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Public Policy, International Studies, Economics, Finance - Banking.
