At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed the activities of the Reader Service Department at Building M, University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh commented that the Information and Library Center, VNU, has made many efforts to improve the spirit of serving readers; is ready to cooperate with the departments and functional offices of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to check and review book and document categories; expand the number of existing documents; increase the number of students and trainees visiting and looking up directly.
However, the Principal also made some suggestions and comments to further improve the quality of the Center's operations. These include upgrading the facilities, especially the air conditioning system and wireless internet; diversifying and classifying documents according to specific industries and majors; creating flexibility in using personal identification documents to look up documents; enhancing communication, promotion, and introduction of the Information Center-Library and the Reader Service Room.
Working scene
According to Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, the most important thing is to create a friendly, cozy environment so that readers feel comfortable and close when coming to the library. The Center can also learn from the experiences and models of other large libraries such as the National Library of Vietnam. Comments have been received in a frank and open manner.
The Information and Library Center, VNU was established under Decision No. 66/TCCB dated February 14, 1997 of the Director of VNU. The Center is responsible for building, developing and organizing the exploitation of rich, diverse and high-quality information resources to meet the requirements of high-quality training and scientific research, reaching international standards of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU).
