Professor Pham Quang Minh shared: In the past, Vietnam and Algeria were two countries invaded and occupied by the colonial regime. The two peoples bravely rose up to fight, overthrow that domination and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria. Vietnam and Algeria built a close diplomatic relationship based on deep sympathy in the two countries' struggle against French colonialism. On October 28, 1962, immediately after Algeria gained independence, the two countries officially established diplomatic relations. Since then, the cooperative relationship between the two countries has developed strongly in many fields of politics, economics, culture and society.
