On January 11, 2012, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a cordial meeting with veteran teachers to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2012. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the university – presided over the meeting.At the meeting with veteran educators, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim – Vice Rector of the University – presented the plan for the development of Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines. Following this, the veteran educators provided advice and contributed opinions on policies for building and developing Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines in the future. Next, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh reviewed some of the outstanding achievements of the University in 2011 across all activities: training, scientific research, international cooperation, university administration, etc. In 2011, the University established a new faculty, the Faculty of Political Science, based on the Department of Political Science. Regarding training, 2011 was the first year that a cohort completed the credit-based training system, with 5 students graduating one year ahead of schedule and 30 students completing a semester ahead of schedule. Postgraduate training increased by 35% compared to the total number of regular students, and joint training programs continued to be implemented and expanded. Regarding scientific research, dozens of research projects at various levels were implemented and completed, with completion and acceptance in 2011; numerous scientific conferences and seminars were organized, including 16 international conferences... The Rector affirmed that the above achievements of the University were largely due to the significant contributions of generations of veteran teachers.

On behalf of the school's leadership, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh expressed his gratitude to the teachers and wished them continued good health. The school is always proud and hopes to continue receiving the support, assistance, and advice of the teachers on the school's overall development policies and especially in the training of young staff members.
