Conference summarizing trade union activities in 2015-2016

Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh – Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the University's Trade Union, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Hanoi National University, the Executive Committee of the departmental Trade Union, the People's Inspection Committee, the Women's Committee of the University's Trade Union, and outstanding trade union members from various units.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the University's Trade Union – presented a summary report on the trade union's activities for the 2015-2016 academic year.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the University's Trade Union - presented the report summarizing the trade union's work in the 2015-2016 academic year. The report emphasized that the trade union movement in the past academic year had achieved comprehensive results. As of June 2016, the University's Trade Union directly managed 524 members (out of a total of 535 staff members). Political and ideological work was maintained. Leaders and union members gained a deeper understanding of the role and position of the University in the new development phase. Trade union activities closely followed their functions and duties, upholding principles, regulations, and policies, ensuring unity within the University, caring for the material and spiritual lives of union members, and organizing many rich and meaningful activities.

The report also outlines the key directions and tasks of trade union work for the 2016-2017 academic year. Specifically, these are as follows:

First,To successfully organize the Congress of Delegates of the Departmental Trade Union and the University Trade Union for the term 2017-2022. The Departmental Trade Union Congress is scheduled for January 2017, and the University Trade Union Congress for March 2017.

Secondly,In coordination with the government, we will encourage staff and lecturers to strive to successfully complete their tasks for the academic year, strengthen the training of staff to meet the standards for titles and academic degrees (Professor/Associate Professor/Doctor), and promote professional activities; and work with the university to quickly develop the institution into a research university.

Third,Strengthen the education of union members to strictly adhere to the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, and thoroughly understand the educational reform policies according to the Central Committee's resolutions and the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Union.

Fourth,Continue activities aimed at strengthening discipline in work, teaching, and learning, and building a school culture that is modern and integrated.

Fifthly,tContinue to pay even more attention to improving the material and spiritual lives of officials and employees.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh – Rector of the University, delivered a speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, the Rector of the University, highly appreciated the role and function of the Trade Union. The Rector emphasized that trade union activities make a significant contribution to the overall development of the University. The themes of the Trade Union's activities have been and are being proposed in a very practical way. The Rector expressed his hope that through trade union activities, the teachers and staff would strengthen their bonds, find joy in their work, and together build and contribute to the development of the University.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Vice President of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi – believes that the activities and role of the Trade Union are expressed through three keywords: propaganda, motivation, and care. This contributes to deepening the activities of the University's Trade Union.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Vice President of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, presented certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements who were awarded by the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

In particular, during the past academic year, the School's Trade Union, as well as the trade unions of various units, performed their functions and duties well, making a significant contribution to the successful achievement of the School's academic year objectives. With these achievements, many collectives and individuals have been recognized and rewarded by trade unions at all levels.

- Awards from the Vietnam Education Trade Union: 3 certificates of merit for collectives and 2 certificates of merit for individuals.

- Awards from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Trade Union: 4 certificates of merit for collectives and 46 certificates of merit for individuals.

- Awards from the School's Trade Union: 6 certificates of merit for collectives and 65 certificates of merit for individuals.
