Conference to summarize union activities in 2015 - 2016

Attending the conference were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Principal of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the University's Trade Union, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Vice Chairman of the Hanoi National University Trade Union, the Executive Committee of the Department's Trade Union, the People's Inspectorate, the Women's Union of the University, and outstanding union members of the units.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union reported on the summary of trade union activities in the 2015 - 2016 school year.

On behalf of the School's Trade Union Executive Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union presented a summary report on the trade union activities in the 2015-2016 school year. The report emphasized that the trade union movement in the past school year had achieved comprehensive results. As of June 2016, the School's Trade Union directly managed 524 union members (out of a total of 535 staff members in the whole school). Political and ideological work was maintained. Leaders and union members had a deeper awareness of the role and position of the School in the new development stage. The trade union activities closely followed its functions and tasks, maintained principles, regimes and policies, ensured solidarity and unity in the School, cared for the material and spiritual lives of union members, and organized many diverse and meaningful activities.

At the same time, the report clearly states the directions and key tasks of the trade union work in the 2016-2017 school year. Specifically as follows:

One is,Organize well the Congress of Delegates of the Departmental Union and the School Union for the term 2017 - 2022. The Departmental Union Congress is expected to be held in January 2017. The School Union in March 2017.

Second,Coordinate with the government to encourage staff and lecturers to strive to complete their tasks for the school year, strengthen the training of staff with qualified titles and degrees (Professor/Associate Professor/Doctor), promote professional activities; coordinate with the school to propose solutions to quickly develop the school into a research university.

Third,Strengthening education for union members to strictly comply with the Party and State's guidelines and policies, thoroughly grasping the policy of educational innovation according to the Central Resolutions and requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union.

Four is,Continue activities to strengthen discipline in work, teaching and learning, build a modern and integrated school culture.

Five is,tContinue to pay more attention to improving the material and spiritual life of cadres and civil servants.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Principal of the School highly appreciated the role and function of the Trade Union. The Principal emphasized: Trade Union activities make an important contribution to the overall development of the School. The topics of activities of the Trade Union have been and are being proposed very practically. The Principal expressed his hope that through trade union activities, teachers will have solidarity, have joy in their work and together build and contribute to the development of the School.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Vice President of VNU Trade Union said that the activities and roles of the Trade Union are expressed through three keywords: propaganda, encouragement, and care. Thereby contributing to bringing the University's trade union activities into depth.

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Vice President of VNU Trade Union awarded certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements who were awarded at the VNU Trade Union level.

Especially in the last school year, the School's Trade Union as well as the Trade Unions of the units have performed their functions and tasks well, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the School's school year tasks. With these achievements, many collectives and individuals have been recognized and rewarded by the Trade Unions at all levels:

- Awards from Vietnam Education Trade Union: 03 certificates of merit for groups and 02 certificates of merit for individuals

- VNU trade union awards: 04 certificates of merit for groups and 46 certificates of merit for individuals

- School union awards: 06 certificates of merit for groups and 65 certificates of merit for individuals.
