Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the field of social sciences and humanities. The University currently has 16 faculties, 12 centers and research institutes as well as more than 10,000 students and trainees of all levels and training systems. In 1995, the University established the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and conducted training from bachelor to doctoral levels in Chinese studies. Many Chinese students have studied majors such as International Studies, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University within the framework of the 1+3, 2+2 training programs. The University wishes to further expand cooperation with Chinese universities and research institutes.
In response, Dr. Cheng, Chung-Mei thanked the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and proposed a number of cooperative activities between Taichung University of Science and Technology and the University, such as organizing international conferences, exchanging students and lecturers, implementing 2+2, 1,3 training programs. In particular, Taichung University of Science and Technology hopes that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support in compiling Vietnamese language teaching textbooks and organizing Vietnamese language exams through the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Assessment Test for Foreigners that the University has compiled.
Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan pledged that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will make every effort to help implement the proposals of Taichung University of Science and Technology and expand cooperation between the two sides.
Taichung University of Science and Technology (NTCUST) is located in Taichung, Taiwan. Originally named National Taichung Institute of Technology, Taichung University of Science and Technology. Currently, NTCUST has 5 affiliated schools and 1 center: School of Business, School of Design, School of Languages, School of Information Technology and Distribution, School of Health Sciences, and Center for General Education. Currently, there are about 600 Vietnamese students studying at NTCUST.
