During the meeting, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) briefly introduced the history, scale of training, and international relations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The University is a prestigious institution in training and research in social sciences and humanities. The Asian Studies program has trained many students with in-depth knowledge of Thailand and strong Thai language skills. Every year, the University sends students and lecturers for exchange programs and research at leading universities in Thailand. The University currently has official cooperation relationships with over 20 Thai universities, including Chukalongkon, Mahidol, Thamasat, Chiang Mai, Bangsomdejchaopraya Rajabhat, and Ubon Rajathanee. The University is currently aiming to become a research university, therefore strengthening cooperation with foreign partners is crucial.

In response, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patcharin Sirasoonthorn thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the warm welcome and proposed several collaborative activities between Naresun University and the University, including organizing international conferences, student and faculty exchanges, and implementing joint training programs. Some of the main areas proposed were sociology, political science, anthropology, tourism studies, international relations, and public administration.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh agreed with the proposals of Associate Professor Patcharin Sirasoonthorn. The Rector also expressed his hope that Naresuan University would send students, trainees, and lecturers to the University for visits, research, and internships. In addition, the Rector suggested that Naresuan University submit articles and contributions to the University's Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities and send staff and lecturers to attend upcoming conferences and seminars organized by the University, such as the International Conference on the ASEAN Community in September, the International Conference on the South China Sea in November, and the 5th International Conference on Vietnamese Studies in December. These are very practical activities aimed at strengthening cooperation and understanding between the two universities in particular and between Vietnam and Thailand in general.
