During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) reviewed the main collaborations between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the KAS Institute in various academic, educational, and cultural fields. In the field of research, the two sides have jointly organized many important international scientific conferences such as "Vietnam's accession to the WTO: Social capital - human resource development" in November 2006, "Models of economic journalism in Vietnam and Germany: the face of economic information in the media" in May 2013, "Managing information sources and providers in the digital age" in March 2014, etc.
According to Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, these collaborations demonstrate that the KAS Institute is one of the long-term and reliable partners of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Rector hopes to continue receiving assistance from the Institute in the future in areas such as faculty exchange, organizing seminars, and establishing a WTO center at the University. In the seminar organization collaboration, some priority topics include internet cybersecurity and its implications for Vietnam, environmental security, constructive government, and national unification…
Mr. Peter Girke highly appreciated the above proposals and stated that the KAS Institute wishes to expand cooperation with the University in the aforementioned areas. The KAS Institute is very interested in investing in education and is ready to assist and facilitate the University in the future. These will be driving forces to promote relations between the two sides in particular and relations between Germany and Vietnam in general.
