In a friendly atmosphere, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan welcomed the Osaka University students to their short-term internship at the University. Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Thi (Deputy Director of the Center for Vietnamese Language and Culture) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tho (teacher at Osaka University) attended the exchange, and at the same time explained and directly guided the students in each situation that occurred. From the way of addressing, greeting, using words, making sentences in conversations, to explaining about Vietnamese dishes, customs, and culture... were exchanged openly and closely between lecturers and students of the two countries. The exchange really became an exciting and lively lesson about Vietnamese language and culture for Japanese students. At the same time, the students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, especially students of the Faculty of Linguistics, also practiced the content of teaching methods for Vietnamese to foreigners. This is the third year that Osaka University and the Center have organized Vietnamese language internships for students in Vietnam. Every year, Osaka University organizes for first-year students - after only 4 months of studying Vietnamese in Japan - to come to Vietnam to participate in a short-term course, so that they have the opportunity to approach and be encouraged early in their learning and research spirit.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Thi said:"After the short-term course, the students' spirit of learning Vietnamese has significantly improved. During the 3-week internship, students learn Vietnamese in a native environment, taught directly by the Center, with special emphasis on Vietnamese communication skills and knowledge of Vietnamese culture. In addition, there will be many outdoor practice sessions and sightseeing tours at famous landmarks. In the third year, students can choose to return to Vietnam to continue learning the language and do their thesis to receive advice from native teachers."
