Meeting of the 10th Scientific and Training Council

The Council discussed important issues:

- Report on Draft Development Strategy of University of Social Sciences and Humanities to 2020, vision 2030.

- Report on Draft Strategy for Science and Technology Development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to 2020 and vision to 2030.

- Report on outstanding results in scientific activities in the 2013-2014 school year and main tasks in the 2014-2015 school year.

- Project to establish Faculty of Anthropology.

- Project to establish the Department of International Development Studies under the Faculty of International Studies.

At the meeting, giving comments on the Draft Strategy for the University's Development, some opinions suggested that it is necessary to be more specific about the orientation and solutions for building a research university; have a plan for close inspection and evaluation to successfully implement the goals; have solutions to build research groups; focus on building new research fields in an interdisciplinary direction; promote practical research to serve society; promote professionalism in management activities; attach importance to modern university governance, invest in building a qualified staff team...

The Council members also supported the proposal to establish the Faculty of Anthropology and the Department of International Development Studies under the Faculty of International Studies. However, the Council members also suggested that the unit should pay attention to increasing human resources to ensure the development of new units, and build development orientations that are both suitable to the reality of Vietnam and updated with international trends.

Based on the Council's comments, the Drafts and Projects presented at the meeting will be revised and completed.
