On February 24, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi) met and worked with a delegation from National Taipei University led by Mr. Tran Uc Nhan – Head of the Education Department – Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam. Also present were representatives from the Department of External Relations and International Cooperation, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, and the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university is a leading institution in training and research in the social sciences and humanities. It currently has 16 faculties and 12 research centers with over 12,000 students and trainees across all levels and training programs. The university is a leading institution for training and research in Chinese studies, with leading experts trained in China since the 1960s and 70s. In 1995, the University established the Department of Chinese Studies within the Faculty of Oriental Studies and has been providing training from bachelor's to doctoral levels in Chinese studies. In addition, the University has a Center for Chinese Studies, and more recently, a Center for Taiwan Education.

Mr. Tran Uc Nhan introduced the 8-year plan for teaching Chinese overseas, spearheaded by National Taipei University, and the "Chinese Proficiency Test" to the faculty and students of the University. He thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its efforts in cooperating to implement the Chinese Proficiency Test in Vietnam and expressed his hope for similar collaborations in the future. He also mentioned that National Taipei University will be holding a study abroad exhibition for Vietnamese students on March 21, 2015, and encouraged students and staff of the University to participate.
National Taiwan University (NTU) is Taiwan's most prestigious university, established in 1928 and located in the heart of Taipei, covering an area equivalent to 1% of Taiwan's entire territory. The university comprises 11 colleges and 54 departments, with 33,416 students in 2009, including over 2,600 international students from more than 60 countries worldwide. This is my first visit.The College of Social Sciences and Humanities, National Taiwan University.
