Very early, the members of the Organizing Committee were present at the preliminary round venue to make final preparations for the upcoming preliminary round. At around 3:00 p.m., as scheduled, the contestants were present on the 8th floor of Building E to receive their registration numbers and check their beats for their performances. The Organizing Committee and the contestants worked together seriously and harmoniously to ensure the best quality for each contestant's performance.
The judges of the program include: Master Tran Bach Hieu - Secretary of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, singer Thuy Dang - top 14 of The Voice 2012, and Mr. Andrew Venemore - English lecturer at ACET center.
Nearly 70 performances by students from many different faculties brought their own colors to each part of the preliminary round. On the evening of October 16, the contestants truly shone with their talents and convinced the members of the jury. The diversity in musical genres of the contestants contributed to creating wonderful, unique, vibrant and student-style performances.

The atmosphere of the hall on the 8th floor of Building E was not only heated up by the lively songs of the contestants but also by the enthusiastic cheers of the students. That helped each contestant gain more confidence and strength to complete their performance excellently.

At around 7:30 p.m., the preliminary round officially ended. The judges discussed with each other through individual evaluations to select the 12 best contestants to participate in the Final round.
Thus, after more than 3 hours of competition, the preliminary round has ended successfully. In the coming time, the program's Organizing Committee and the contestants will enter the stage of preparing for the final night of the English Singing Contest of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Melody of Life 2014.
