On October 29, 2014, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Principal) received and worked with Professor Mark S Garratt, Director of External Relations, Bradford University (UK). Also attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading address for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The Vice President proposed the implementation of cooperation between Bradford University by suggesting some directions of activities between the two schools such as implementing joint research topics, exchanging lecturers and students.

 

Prof. Mark S Garratt welcomed the proposal of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh and said that Bradford University wanted to learn more about the activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In particular, he proposed student exchanges between the two sides as an activity to promote cooperation. In addition, he hoped that the two schools would conduct joint research on subjects such as Peace Studies and Psychology. He said that Bradford University is currently the only university offering training in Peace Studies.

The University of Bradford was founded in 1966 and is located in the city of Bradford, West Yorkshire. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and is considered to be “a place with a perfect mix of all races and languages”, a warm and friendly environment – ​​great for international students.The university has seven affiliated schools: Engineering, Design and Technology; Health; Computing, Informatics and Communication; Education and Lifelong Development; Life Sciences; Management; and Social and International Studies.
