On November 9, 2013, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received Prof. Robert Newman (Rector of the College of Humanities, University of Utah, USA) and Prof. Michael Hardman (Head of Global Office, University of Utah).

At the meeting, the leaders of the two sides signed an official cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Humanities (University of Utah). Accordingly, the cooperation between the two sides focuses on specific activities: exchange of lecturers, researchers, and experts; exchange of students and postgraduates; cooperation in education and training; cooperation in organizing short-term courses and academic activities; exchange of information and scientific documents; implementation of joint research projects, etc.

The University of Utah was founded in 1850, located in Salt Lake City, USA. The school currently enrolls nearly 30,000 students. The school has 17 member schools, including major units such as the School of Architecture & Planning, Business, Continuing Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Health, Humanities, Law, Medicine, Earth Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science and Society... The levels of education that the school offers include doctoral, professional training, master's and bachelor's degrees and certificate programs. The University of Utah develops in the direction of a research university and is a prestigious university in the United States, ranked in the top 100 universities in the world.
