This is the first project under the National Key Science and Technology Program for the period 2016-2020: "Research on key issues in social sciences and humanities serving socio-economic development" (KX01/16-20) to be implemented under contract.
Attending the signing ceremony were representatives from the Office of State-level Key Programs - Mr. Mai Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Office, and relevant specialists from the Ministry of Science and Technology. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Director of the Institute of Policy and Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Policy and Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science; and Dr. Nguyen Manh Dung - Head of the Science and Training Department, Institute of Policy and Management. After more than 5 months of brainstorming, preparing the proposal, and undergoing the content and financial evaluation process as stipulated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the project was successfully tendered and is expected to be implemented at the end of 2016.

According to the signed contract, the team of experts from the Institute of Policy and Management (IPAM) will be responsible for conducting analytical studies to assess the opportunities and challenges of social mobility policy for Vietnam's high-quality science and technology human resources in the context of international integration. The results of the project will serve as a reference for the Ministry of Science and Technology and related sectors to continue developing and refining policies to serve socio-economic development in the coming years. Speaking at the signing ceremony, the representative of the Office expressed the hope that the IPAM research team will provide theoretically and practically significant arguments – the research results of the project – to policymakers in science and technology development in the future and complete the project on schedule.
The successful bidding and signing of the research project contract at the end of 2016 is a positive sign for a promising academic year with a series of training, research, and cooperation activities of the unit, contributing to the achievement of the University's development goals, especially the orientation towards becoming a research university in the context of deep international integration in science and technology. At the signing ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University - thanked the State-level Key Office and requested the Office to continue supporting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in implementing subsequent projects.

Institute for Policy and Management – IPAM (formerlyCenter for Policy Research and Analysis), affiliated with the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is a think tank model in the field of policy and management with the slogan: Ideas – Awareness – Innovation.Think tank – Perception – Innovation)The Institute is one of the units actively implementing training activities, scientific research, domestic and international projects, policy consulting, and establishing policy networks in Vietnam after more than 14 years of operation and development. With the continuous efforts of the unit and the support of the University's Board of Directors, in just 3 years (2014-2016), the Institute directly implemented 5 state-level research projects and protocols, and carried out more than 10 projects and programs at the ministerial and local levels. In addition, the Policy Research Group, comprising researchers from the Institute (led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Cao Dam and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong), was recognized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi as a strong research group at the VNU level in 2015 with significant achievements in research activities, especially in promoting international publications.
