This is the first topic under the National Key Science and Technology Program for the period 2016-2020: "Research on important issues in social sciences and humanities serving socio-economic development" (KX01/16-20) to be implemented and signed a contract.
Attending the signing ceremony were representatives of the Office of State-level Key Programs - Mr. Mai Van Hoa - Deputy Director of the Office and specialists in charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology. On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Director of the Institute of Policy and Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Deputy Director of the Institute of Policy and Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science; Dr. Nguyen Manh Dung - Head of the Department of Science and Training, Institute of Policy and Management. After more than 5 months of brainstorming, preparing the presentation and going through the content and financial assessment process according to the regulations of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the project was successfully bid and is expected to be implemented at the end of 2016.
According to the signed contract, the expert group of the Institute of Policy and Management will be responsible for conducting analytical studies to assess the opportunities and challenges of social mobility management policies of Vietnam's high-quality science and technology human resources in the context of international integration. The results of the project will be one of the reference bases for the Ministry of Science and Technology and related sectors to continue to develop and perfect policies to serve socio-economic development in the following years. Speaking at the signing ceremony, the representative of the Office expressed his hope that the IPAM research group will provide meaningful theoretical and practical arguments - the research results of the project to policy makers for science and technology development in the coming time and implement the project on time.
The successful bidding and signing of the scientific research contract at the end of 2016 is a good sign for a promising school year with a series of training, research and cooperation activities of the unit, contributing to the implementation of the development goals of the University that have been and are being set in the coming time, especially the orientation of a research university in the context of deep international integration of science and technology as at present. At the signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector of the University thanked the State Key Office and requested the Office to continue supporting the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to continue implementing the following topics.

Institute of Policy and Management – IPAM (formerlyCenter for Policy Research and Analysis), part of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi, is a think tank model in the field of policy and management with the slogan: Ideas - Awareness - Innovation (Think tank – Perception – Innovation). The Institute is one of the units actively implementing training activities, scientific research, implementing domestic and foreign projects, providing policy advice and establishing a policy network in Vietnam after more than 14 years of operation and development. With the unit's continuous efforts and the support of the University's Board of Directors, in just 3 years (2014-2016), the Institute has directly implemented 05 State-level and Protocol-level topics, and carried out more than 10 ministerial-level and local-level topics and projects. In addition, the Policy Research Group consisting of the Institute's researchers (led by Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Cao Dam and Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong) was recognized by VNU as a strong research group at VNU level in 2015 with significant achievements in research activities, especially promoting international publications.
