During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the history of training and research at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighting its status as a leading institution for social sciences and humanities education in Vietnam. The university currently has over 13,000 students across all programs, over 700 faculty and staff members, and international relations with over 200 universities worldwide. Among the university's partners, the Rector affirmed that the Toshiba Foundation, and Japan in general, are always important partners in the strategy for developing international cooperation. Over the years, the Toshiba Foundation has continuously sponsored the series of seminars "New Research on Japan and Asia," aiming to promote research and academic exchange among young researchers, while also fostering the sharing of new scientific research findings on Japan and Asia.
Mr. Keisuke Omori expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and pledged to continue funding and assisting the University in research and training in Japanese studies and the Japanese language. The results achieved through the aforementioned series of seminars serve as motivation for the Foundation to further expand its support activities at the University. These activities will contribute to strengthening the relationship between the Foundation and the University in particular, and consolidating Vietnam-Japan relations in general.
