KF E-School Online Classroom Inaugurated

On November 29th, the Faculty of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) held the inauguration ceremony for the KF E-School online classroom in room 502, building C.

The purpose of the classroom is to support students of the University in researching and accessing knowledge about Korea, with the main target audience being students of the Korean Studies Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Mr. Park Kyung Chul (Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange in Hanoi); Mr. Kwon Tae Du (Chief Representative of Kookmin Bank of Korea in Hanoi); Dr. Luu Tuan Anh (Head of the Department of Oriental Studies). Also present were Vietnamese and Korean lecturers and students from the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The Korea Foundation in Hanoi has agreed to support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi in its collaborative training program with Seoul National University, South Korea. The establishment of the KF E-School online classroom system is part of the cooperation plan between the two universities, aiming to supplement diverse lectures on Korean culture, language, and politics. The classroom's facilities include a TV screen system with high-speed internet, directly connected to the Korean network. Students will receive online instruction from professors at Seoul National University. The Faculty of Oriental Studies also received significant support in terms of facilities from Kookmin Bank (Korea).

On behalf of the University leadership and the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa expressed her gratitude to the relevant units. The inauguration of this classroom is of great significance in promoting collaborative training activities between the University and international partners, and also contributes to training Vietnamese human resources who are not only proficient in Korean but also knowledgeable about Korean culture, economics, and politics.

Representatives from various organizations cut the ribbon to inaugurate the KF E-School online classroom.

In response, Mr. Park Kyung Chul (Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange in Hanoi) highly appreciated the school's Korean Studies training program. He affirmed that the school is one of the three most reputable institutions for Korean Studies training in the northern region of Vietnam. This is a significant advantage for the Foundation in implementing support activities for the school's students. Accordingly, the Foundation has secured funding for the KF E-School classroom from Kookmin Bank (Korea).

Kookmin Bank has made numerous contributions to education and society in Vietnam, such as supporting the publication of the book "Comprehensive Korean for Vietnamese Speakers" and establishing "Star of Hope Schools" in Tuyen Quang province. Through this online learning support program, the bank aims to create the most favorable environment for Vietnamese students to cultivate confidence in their future studies and careers.

Following the ceremony, the classroom will be operational starting from the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year.
