Inauguration of KF E-School online classroom

On November 29, the Faculty of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) held the inauguration ceremony of the KF E-School online classroom in room 502, building C.

The purpose of the classroom is to support the School's students in researching and accessing knowledge about Korea, with the main target being students of the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Mr. Park Kyung Chul (Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation in Hanoi); Mr. Kwon Tae Du (Chief Representative of the Kookmin Bank of Korea in Hanoi); Dr. Luu Tuan Anh (Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies). In addition, there were Vietnamese and Korean lecturers and students of the Department of Korean Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The Korea Foundation in Hanoi has agreed to support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU in its training partnership with Seoul National University, Korea. The construction of the KF E-School online classroom system is part of the cooperation plan between the two schools, aiming to supplement diverse lectures on Korean culture, language, and politics. The room's facilities include a TV screen system with high-speed internet, directly connected to the network system in Korea. Students will be taught online by professors from Seoul National University. The Faculty of Oriental Studies also received great support in terms of facilities from Kookmin Bank (Korea).

On behalf of the school leaders and the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa expressed her gratitude to the relevant units. The inauguration of this classroom is of great significance in promoting joint training activities between the school and international partners, and also contributes to training Vietnamese human resources who are not only good at Korean but also knowledgeable about Korean culture, economics and politics.

Representatives of the units cut the ribbon to inaugurate the KF E-School online classroom.

In response, Mr. Park Kyung Chul (Chief Representative of the Korea Foundation in Hanoi) highly appreciated the Korean Studies training of the School. He affirmed that the School is one of the three most prestigious Korean training units in the Northern region of Vietnam. This is an advantage for the Fund to implement activities to support the School's students. Accordingly, the Fund has mobilized funding for the KF E-School classroom from Kookmin Bank (Korea).

Kookmin Bank has made many contributions to education and social work in Vietnam, such as supporting the publication of the book “Korean for Vietnamese” and building “Star of Hope Schools” in Tuyen Quang province. By supporting this online classroom, the Bank wants to create the most favorable environment for Vietnamese students to nurture their confidence in their future studies and work.

After the ceremony, the classroom will be put into operation from the first semester of the 2017-2018 school year.
