
Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Hao (Deputy Director of the Institute of Psychology - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Secretary General of the Conference) summarized the topics discussed at the Conference on behalf of the Organizing Committee.
The Organizing Committee received 454 abstracts, followed by 149 complete reports from scientists in 35 countries. Delegates from Vietnam alone came from 83 institutes and organizations nationwide. Five roundtables were held to discuss plans and trends for regional and international cooperation to promote the development of psychology in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Thirteen keynote speeches, 250 presentations, and 37 specialized conference presentations were all highly regarded by delegates for their scientific quality and innovative research ideas.

The workshop not only brought Vietnamese psychologists closer together but also connected psychologists in Southeast Asia and around the world. Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Hao expressed his gratitude to the organizations that worked and collaborated to make this event a success: the International Association for Applied Psychology, the International Association for Intercultural Psychology, the International Examinations Committee, the Chinese Psychological Society, and the Australian Psychological Society. The Organizing Committee also especially thanked the tireless efforts of the Vietnamese team of collaborators and volunteers who supported the event.

Professor Janel Gauthier (President of the International Association of Applied Psychology) assessed: "I believe this conference will become a milestone in the history of psychology in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The conference has met all the expectations of the organizing committee and the participating scientists, from the criteria regarding the number of international delegates to the quality of the keynote speeches and presentations; the diversity in the discussion topics in the subcommittees and roundtables."

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chairman of the Conference) expressed his gratitude to the partners and scientists who enthusiastically contributed to the success of the Conference. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a leading university with a rich tradition in research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam – was honored to be a destination for international academic discussions and sharing. The Conference also demonstrated that with the right ideas and the solidarity and cooperation of Vietnamese and international scientists, it is entirely possible to successfully organize scientific events that are significant for the development and cooperation of the scientific community in Vietnam, the region, and the world. The Rector also especially thanked Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga (Second Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in China) and Professor Buxin Han – who were the first to connect and propose organizing the 1st Southeast Asian Regional Psychology Conference at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
