Distinguished delegates!

Dear teachers,

Dear parents and graduating students!

My name is Nguyen Thi Phuong Chung, a student of the K59 Journalism and Communication course. Today, I am very happy and honored to represent my fellow graduates and deliver a speech at this solemn graduation ceremony.

Dear teachers and classmates!

Time really flies. It feels like just one September day, almost four years ago, my parents brought me from the sunny and windy land of Quang Nam to Hanoi to start university, filled with excitement, dreams, and aspirations. And now, the journey of those brilliant student years has truly come to an end.

The moment we truly felt this ending was probably when we logged into the Student Portal as usual and were startled to find it completely empty because all our data had been transferred to another site – one for graduated students. And at this moment, in this atmosphere, the feeling of that “ending” was clearer than ever.

People often say it's a shame that the iconic "marble" of the Faculty of Humanities disappeared just as our K59 cohort entered. But even without the "legendary marble," we still love the Faculty of Humanities in our own way. We love building AB, always packed with students on the benches. We love building BC, peaceful and transformed by the dreamy bougainvillea trellis. We love building G, with its bustling information room. We love building E, spacious and "authoritative," with its administrative area. We love building H, quietly hidden away as if deep in thought. And we love the back gate, opening and closing every hour.

And most importantly, we express our deep love and gratitude to our teachers, who are also our close mentors, companions, and helpers throughout our years as bewildered university students.

Four years of studying at this university have left us with many beautiful memories and unforgettable moments of our vibrant and ambitious student life. Our teachers not only imparted knowledge but also equipped us with life experiences to prepare us for the future.

We are truly proud to be students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, proud of its long tradition of academic excellence, proud of its rigorous and fair examinations, and proud of a school that evaluates and ranks students based on their own abilities, not on any other factors. We are even more confident because from this school, many generations of students have emerged who are now dedicated scientists, educators, and administrators throughout the country. And we hope that the K59 cohort will also be a generation of students who can achieve many accomplishments in various fields, bringing glory to the University.

From today onwards, whether we like it or not, we must all come to the end of our poignant student journey. And as soon as it ends, a new journey will begin. That is the journey into life, equipped with the knowledge and lessons that our teachers have provided us over the past four years.

Once again, I would like to express my most sincere and profound gratitude to all the teachers who have nurtured us and helped us grow into mature individuals. Thank you to my dear friends, senior students, and junior students who have accompanied us throughout our studies and activities.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to our parents, the wonderful people who gave us life and raised us.

In conclusion, we would like to thank the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities for witnessing all the joys and sorrows throughout our student life, and for igniting the flame of passion and youthful enthusiasm within us. We promise that wherever we go and whatever we do, we will always cherish in our hearts a love and pride for this place – the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

I wish all distinguished guests and faculty members good health. I wish the new graduates much success in their future endeavors. And I wish our university continued growth and strength, worthy of being a leading center for research and training in social sciences in the country.

Thank you very much!
