Workshop "Enhancing revolutionary ideal education in students"

Promoting the achievements of more than 30 years of national renovation, in the past 5-year term, the revolutionary ideal education work of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union continued to develop, clearly demonstrating the role and responsibility towards union members and young people, building a force of union members and young people in Vietnam who are always steadfast in ideology and political stance; have ethics, healthy lifestyle, education, science and technology; have the will and spirit of hard work, creativity, and strive to overcome difficulties.

However, there is still a phenomenon of a part of the youth losing faith, lacking awareness of law enforcement, living pragmatically, lacking ideals and moving away from the fine cultural traditions of the nation. Therefore, in recent years, implementing the function of "Socialist School for Youth", with innovations in educational content and methods, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has achieved some remarkable results.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Party Secretary, Vice Principal of the School) emphasized the qualities that Vietnamese youth union members need to have: Studying, being proactive and creative; The spirit of self-reliance, career establishment and entrepreneurship of union members and young people; Responsibility for themselves, society and union work. In addition, young people need to promote the spirit of "Saying goes hand in hand with doing" and "Pioneering and exemplary in union work", having a high sense of responsibility to the community to do: "One good deed every day, one beautiful action every week".

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) emphasized the need to educate revolutionary ideals for union members and young people. Ho Chi Minh's viewpoint on educating revolutionary ideals for union members and young people includes: Education of love for the Fatherland; love for the people; love for socialism; love for labor; love for science and discipline. In the current context, the information technology era with the 4.0 industrial revolution, the explosion of the internet makes the struggle on the ideological front still a persistent and fierce war. Therefore, how to educate "youth to have a "hot heart and a cool head", enthusiastic, passionate but also very alert, warning against the sabotage and divisive plots of hostile forces, the lure of trivial temptations" - Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang shared.

Representatives of the Union branches, Youth Union branches, and Clubs also shared lessons, experiences, and difficulties in Union activities. The representative of the Faculty of Philosophy Union said that the Union organizations need to strengthen propaganda and soft skills training for youth union members to help them correctly perceive the need to practice life skills. From there, young people can participate in collective activities of the Union proactively and sensitively in all situations.

The representative of the Media Club made some suggestions: the Youth Union branches need to be more proactive and thorough in discovering and nurturing outstanding members and students, especially in the work of developing the Party. And from the individual side, students and young people also need to be proactive in studying, practicing, cherishing the past, preserving and promoting the good values ​​of the future young generation.

At the end of the workshop, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Ngoc Luong summarized the opinions contributed in the workshop and once again affirmed the important role of the Youth Union in educating revolutionary ideals for union members and young people. At the same time, the Youth Union needs to orient the revolutionary ideals of union members and young people to firmly pursue the goal of national independence associated with socialism, strive to build a Vietnam with rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization, loyally and excellently continue the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party; work hard, be creative and brave in fighting to protect the Fatherland.
