A training session on e-learning teaching using a platform provided free of charge by UPM (a subsidiary of Bao Ninh Group) for faculty members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place over two days, February 27th and 28th. More than 80 lecturers from all departments received support from UPM technicians in setting up accounts and developing course content, with plans to implement teaching in the upcoming semester.

Humanities flourish with E-learning!

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared at the training session: Promoting the "technologization" of teaching and applying technology in online teaching at the university is not a seasonal task; it will be a strategic activity of the University. Therefore, implementing E-learning at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently one of the key tasks that the University has set for 2020 and the next five years. This also reflects the efforts of the lecturers in applying information technology to innovative teaching activities.

The professor also stated: Previously, the school's online training format was limited to a combination of online and offline learning, meaning teachers assigned homework and reading materials to students; some discussions were conducted during online classes combined with offline lectures in the classroom. Currently, to promote and popularize e-learning throughout the school in a more professional and effective way, applying technology at a higher level, the school is collaborating with UPM Education Technology Joint Stock Company to introduce a new, modern, and much more convenient online teaching platform to help teachers manage online classes and interact with students in a multi-directional manner.

The Vice Rector also noted: The greatest success in implementing technology in teaching and learning at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the enthusiastic spirit of innovation in teaching among the lecturers and staff of the University. When the University collaborated with UPM to implement E-learning training, the initial expectation was that about 15-20 lecturers would be pioneers in applying it. Surprisingly, nearly 100 lecturers and staff registered for training and immediately implemented it in their teaching this semester. The lecturers not only considered this a legitimate right but also a responsibility towards the innovation of teaching at the University. The University is proud to have a team of lecturers with high professional competence, dedication to their profession, and especially a very high motivation for innovation!

Unless something changes, after two days of training, approximately 100 lecturers from the University will be ready to teach online using UPM's modern technology.
