
Professor Philippe Peycam shared information about the topic of the upcoming conference.
During the meeting, Professor Philippe Peycam presented proposals regarding the content and cooperation plan between the Institute for Asian Studies, Leiden University, where he was appointed, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and partners in South Korea, France, and the UK to organize an international conference centered around the proposed theme of South Korea and Vietnam in global perception.
Professor Philippe Peycam also proposed several topics for the conference, including: culture, the transition of indigenous cultures of ancient kingdoms; medieval and modern urban culture; relations with China: trade, culture, diplomacy; the penetration of Western culture, the experiences of Korea and Vietnam; the modernization process, modern urban culture…

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Rector of the University, gave a speech and shared his views.
On behalf of the university leadership, Professor Nguyen Van Kim expressed his delight that the Institute for International Asian Studies, Leiden University, represented by Professor Philippe Peycam, had chosen to collaborate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in organizing the conference.
Professor Nguyen Van Kim expressed his support for the points raised by Professor Philippe Peycam, and emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will actively participate and provide maximum support to the Institute to ensure the conference is successful and effective.
The workshop is scheduled to take place in February 2017 at the auditorium located at 19 Le Thanh Tong Street.
