On September 17, 2013, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) met and worked with Professor Linda J. Yarr (Director of the Cooperation for International Strategies in Asia program, Sigur Center for Asian Studies, George Washington University, USA). Also present were representatives from the Research Management Department, the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation, and the Faculty of International Studies.
During the meeting, Professor Linda discussed plans to organize the international scientific conference "Perspectives on Nuclear Energy in Asia," scheduled for January 20, 2014, with the participation of scientists from the United States and Vietnam. Scientists will share research findings on key topics: international and US perspectives on nuclear energy; perspectives on establishing nuclear-powered states in Asia; and perspectives on developing nuclear-powered states in Southeast Asia.
This international scientific conference is part of the annual Nuclear Energy Exhibition and Conference in Asia series held in Hanoi from January 21 to February 22, 2014, with the participation of delegates from 21 countries around the world.
