On September 17, 2013, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with Professor Linda J. Yarr (Director of the Cooperation Program for International Strategies in Asia, Sigur Center for Asian Studies, George Washington University, USA). Also receiving the delegation were representatives of the Department of Scientific Research Management, the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Training Cooperation and the Faculty of International Studies.
At the meeting, Prof. Linda discussed the plan to organize the International Scientific Conference “Perspectives on Nuclear Energy in Asia”, scheduled to be held on January 20, 2014 with the participation of scientists from the United States and Vietnam. Scientists will share research results on the main topics: international and US nuclear energy perspectives; perspectives on building nuclear energy countries in Asia; perspectives on developing nuclear energy countries in Southeast Asia.
This international scientific conference is an event within the series of activities of the annual Exhibition and Conference on Nuclear Energy in Asia held in Hanoi from January 21 to February 22, 2014 with the participation of delegates from 21 countries around the world.
