Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa briefly introduced the history of development, training scale, and international relations of the University. The University currently has official cooperation with more than 20 Thai universities such as Chukalongkon, Mahidol, Thamasat, Chiang Mai, Bangsomdejchaopraya Rajabhat, Ubon Rajathanee… The Faculty of Oriental Studies also has a long tradition and extensive research and training in Thai Studies in Vietnam. Every year, the University has been implementing student and faculty exchange programs with Thai universities. In the field of Tourism, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is also a leading and long-standing training institution in Vietnam, training 100 undergraduate students and dozens of postgraduate students annually. Because they receive a broad and fundamental foundation of knowledge to advance into specialized areas of Tourism Studies, graduates can adapt to many different job positions in the tourism industry both domestically and internationally.
The delegation from Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok also provided some information: RMUTTO is a university specializing in science and technology, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as: agriculture and natural resources; science and technology; social sciences and humanities; business administration and information technology; tourism studies; arts studies; engineering; architecture; medicine, etc. The university has nearly 12,000 students and almost 500 faculty members.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders of both universities affirmed that there are many opportunities and prospects for cooperation between the two universities, especially in the field of Tourism Studies. In the near future, both sides will proceed with steps to establish a formal cooperation relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and RMUTTO.
