
Also on August 20-21, 2022, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences (CIRSS) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a screening and initial psychological support program for students at Hope School. Hope School is a school that nurtures and educates orphaned children across the country who lost their parents due to the Covid-19 pandemic, under the patronage of FPT Group.
The screening and assessment program, organized by experts from the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences, aims to:
Participating in the program were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Hong Thai, Ms. Dao Thi Hoa, and Dr. Tran Van Minh. Through examinations and conversations with the students, the experts conducted initial screening assessments of their mental health status, as well as their strengths and recovery potential. They also provided knowledge and guidance on how to respond when identifying students who need urgent psychological support. Based on this, CIRSS experts will design psychological support programs and skills training for each group of students as proposed by Hope School. In the near future, CIRSS will continue to implement support and counseling/emergency psychological therapy activities for Hope School students experiencing psychological problems.




In a conversation with students who unfortunately lost their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan shared their pain and immense loss, while expressing his belief that with the companionship, support, and care of the teachers at the School of Hope, and the experts from the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences, under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the students will quickly overcome their grief, study well, and achieve success and happiness in life. In particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, will award 100 full scholarships to students who pass the entrance exam to the University over the next five years (from 2023-2028).
