At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh briefly introduced the history of training and research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as a leading place for training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. The University currently has about 12,000 students of all systems, 16 faculties and 12 Research Centers, international relations with over 200 universities around the world. The University is eager to expand cooperation with foreign universities, training and research institutions. Therefore, with Azerbaijan, the University hopes to have the opportunity to learn from Azerbaijani society and culture as well as establish Vietnamese and Vietnamese studies majors at some universities or research and training institutions in Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Anar Lachin O Imanov said that the educational cooperation between Vietnam and Azerbaijan has a long history. Many leaders of ministries, departments, branches and large companies in Vietnam such as Vietnam Petro have studied in this country. Therefore, he was very pleased to be warmly welcomed by the USSH and wished to welcome cadres and lecturers from Vietnam to visit and work at universities in Azerbaijan. He also wished to send teachers from Azerbaijani universities to Vietnam to teach and research on Azerbaijan and its language. Finally, Ambassador Anar Lachin O Imanov proposed to organize the Azerbaijani Cultural Day at the USSH in October to introduce the culture and art of this country. This will be a meaningful event to introduce Azerbaijani culture to the Vietnamese people.

It is known that Ambassador Imanov of Azerbaijan has just been appointed as the first Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Vietnam and pledged to do his best to foster the friendship between the two countries.
