Summer courses are part of the Vietnamese language and culture training program at foreign universities with Vietnamese language majors and training cooperation with the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language. In the summer of 2014, the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language successfully organized consecutive Vietnamese language and culture courses (part of the Summer study tour program at universities) for nearly 60 students from Tokyo University of Foreign Languages, Daitobunka University (Japan), and Chungwoon University (Korea).

Within the framework of the summer Vietnamese language internship program, students are not only provided with basic Vietnamese language knowledge and practical skills but also get to learn about and participate in interesting activities related to Vietnamese culture, such as: learning to perform traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, learning to sing Vietnamese folk songs, practicing Vietnamese cooking, presenting course reports, visiting Korean and Japanese companies in Hanoi, interacting and exploring Hanoi with Vietnamese students from the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, visiting famous landmarks and historical sites in Vietnam…

The dedication of the faculty and staff of the Department, along with the enjoyable experiences during the summer internship, left many profound memories and positive impressions on the international students. Representatives of the delegation leaders also expressed their deep gratitude and hope to continue developing training cooperation with the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

These summer learning activities not only help foreign students improve their Vietnamese language skills and understanding of Vietnam, but also serve as a bridge connecting people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and international friends.
