On February 27, 2019, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from three universities in the Russian Federation: the Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal University, and the Southern Federal University, led by Professor Alexander Sokolovsky (Director of the Vietnam Cultural Center, Far Eastern Federal University). Also present were representatives from the Faculty of Management Science, the Faculty of Political Science, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Sociology, and the Office of Cooperation and Development.

During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the three universities. The Rector stated that, to achieve its current successes, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, like many other higher education institutions in Vietnam, has learned and applied a great deal of knowledge acquired from the education systems of the former Soviet Union and present-day Russia. Many of the university's staff members are graduates of Russian universities and are proficient in Russian. Even in the modern era of globalization, Russian partners remain crucial to the university's internationalization strategy. Therefore, the Rector hoped to expand cooperation with Russian universities through activities such as student and faculty exchanges; joint research projects; joint training programs; and promoting joint international publications.

On behalf of the visiting delegation, Professor Alexander Sokolovsky highly appreciated the warm welcome from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He suggested organizing an international conference on the topic of preserving and conserving traditional culture in the context of globalization. The conference is expected to take place in November. For their part, representatives from Kazan Federal University and the Southern Federal University also introduced several training programs in social sciences and humanities, especially master's programs in English and Russian. Both universities agreed and expressed their desire to participate in the conference that the University plans to organize with the Far Eastern Federal University.
