Receiving delegations from three universities of the Russian Federation

On February 27, 2019, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation of three universities in the Russian Federation, namely Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal University, and Southern Federal University, led by Prof. Alexander Sokolovsky (Director of the Vietnam Cultural Center, Far Eastern Federal University). Also receiving the delegation were representatives of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Sociology, and the Department of Cooperation and Development.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh sent a warm welcome to the delegation of the three universities. The Rector said that to achieve the achievements today, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as many other higher education institutions in Vietnam have learned and applied a lot of knowledge acquired from the former Soviet Union's education system as well as Russia's current one. Many staff of the University have graduated from universities in the neighboring country and are fluent in Russian. Even in the modern globalization period, Russian partners are still no less important in the University's internationalization strategy. Therefore, the Rector hopes to be able to cooperate with Russian universities through activities such as student and lecturer exchanges; conducting joint research projects; implementing joint training programs; promoting joint international publications.

On behalf of the delegation, Prof. Alexander Sokolovsky highly appreciated the warm welcome of the USSH. He proposed the idea of ​​organizing an international conference on the topic of preserving and conserving traditional culture in the context of globalization. The conference is expected to take place next November. For their part, representatives of Kazan Federal University and Southern Federal University also introduced a number of social sciences and humanities training programs, especially master's programs in English and Russian. The two universities also agreed and expressed their desire to participate in the conference that the University planned to organize with the Far Eastern Federal University.

Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) was founded in 1899 and is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation. FEFU has more than 25,000 full-time students. FEFU has 09 affiliated units, including units specializing in training in social sciences and humanities such as the School of Humanities; School of Culture, Arts and Sports; School of Pedagogy; School of International and Regional Studies - Institute of Oriental Studies; School of Economics and Management; School of Law.

Kazan Federal University (KFU) was founded in 1804 and is one of the oldest universities in the Russian Federation. KFU has over 40,000 students. KFU consists of 16 institutes, 3 higher schools, 2 faculties, the Faculty of Law and 2 regional branches. KFU has units specializing in training in social sciences and humanities such as the Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication; Institute of Social Sciences, Philosophy and Mass Communication; Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies; Institute of Psychology and Education; Institute of Comparative Modernity Studies; Institute of Languages; Faculty of Law.

Southern Federal University (SFU) was founded in 1915 with the original name of Rostov State University, and was renamed to its current name in 2006. SFU has over 45,000 students. SFU consists of two campuses in Rostov and Taganrog. Rostov campus has 4 academies, 7 training institutes, 5 faculties, 1 higher school, 3 research institutes; Taganrog campus has 4 training institutes, 2 research institutes. SFU has units specializing in training in social sciences and humanities such as the Academy of Psychology and Educational Sciences; Faculty of Management; Faculty of Economics; Faculty of Law; Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies; Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication; Institute of Philosophy and Social and Political Research.
