Free English communication courses are organized under a cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) and the Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) since the beginning of 2018. Up to now, with the coordination of CASA and the University's Student Association, the program has entered its second year with the results of 07 courses, 28 classes, attracting the participation of 16 foreign volunteers and more than 600 USSH students registered to study and support.
The first course in 2019 took place from February 18 to April 25, 2019, and students welcomed two volunteers from France and Denmark. The course was organized into 4 classes (2 basic classes and 2 advanced classes), each class will study 2 sessions/week in self-study room 103, Building E. Coming to the class, students will have the opportunity to practice their English communication skills in a 100% English environment with foreign volunteers and student volunteers at the school.
English is the most widely used language in the world. Using English to communicate effectively is an important skill for students to be able to study, research better as well as more easily succeed after graduating in the current international context. However, the opportunity to practice communicating in English in general, especially for people from English-speaking countries, is not easy for most students. Therefore, free English communication classes are a practical student support activity, attracting a large number of students to participate from the first days of its launch until now.
In addition to the opportunity to improve their English communication skills, USSH students also have the opportunity to practice their soft skills (teamwork, communication skills, public speaking skills, etc.). The units coordinating this activity also hope that participating students will gain useful experiences and knowledge during their studies. Through this, students can practice to have the qualities of confidence, dynamism, and integration.
